Simple Bakery & Market

I love the bakery too much. They have fresh, incredible sourdough (many different variations). They also have a schedule so you know what is baked fresh at what time of the day. I only purchase my bread here, as store bought is just not the same. They also gave basic coffee and tea, which is nice to pair with some of their treats like cheesecake bites or their famous croissants.

Love the food here! Service is good, everything is fresh, and there's lots of new tastes to try. We also love the baked stuff at their market.

We had breakfast next-door and then went into the bakery to get some items to go. We got several pastries and a loaf of bread. By 11:30 on a Sunday morning the choices were limited, however. They had lots of people working so the wait wasn't very long. I selected something that's made with croissant dough but in a muffin cup and has a kind of syrup shell on top. I didn't eat it until Monday and it was incredible. I will definitely go back next time. I am in Lake Geneva.

The selection of desserts were plentiful and looked delicious but I couldn't help but remember how unfriendly the service was. At first entry, I looked around and started taking pictures like I usually do on Yelp. No hello or welcome in greetings from the workers, all I got was a serious question of what are you taking pictures of???Now my family and I had seriously enjoyed the service and the dining experience at the Simple Cafe next door and wanted to enjoy a tasteful dessert afterwards. Even though the desserts we ordered were really good (like the flourless chocolate cup cake yummmm) I had to deduct a star for the horrible service. If you are committing to the service industry, at least hire people that are friendly and like interacting with people.

Honestly, I had high hopes for this place since the Cafe next door was excellent! The service here was HORRIBLE! My husband and I were taking pictures of their sweet treats and their decor. It was cute and inviting until we were asked, in a very rude manner, why we were taking pictures. I think it's a very valid question, but the accusatory tone was a turn-off. I was about to tell my husband and parents that we should leave, but I wanted to try the desserts that the gals from the cafe raved about. In retrospect, we should've just left. We ordered the chocolate flourless cupcakes, a kouign amann, and a chocolate walnut cookie. The cupcakes were tasty, and so was the cookie. The kouign amann was lacking, and it was hard! I don't trash businesses on Yelp. But the rudeness was ridiculous! They probably would've gotten a higher rating even for mediocre service. But, the ladies were just plain rude! I definitely will not be back when visiting the area.

What a gem!! So glad we found this place! So many great items there! The sweetest staff! Loved all of our goodies! Will definitely pop back in when in the area again!

The new Ruby sandwich... a takeoff on a Ruben. I could eat one daily! So savory and delicious!

Found this place while visiting Lake Geneva. The folks here are super nice and the food very yummy.

Outstanding service, the staff truly went beyond! A true gem of a place with outstanding bakery! Don't get me started about how exceptional the bread and pastries are!!! A must stop!

The chocolate almond croissant was excellent as was the raspberry muffin. Other bakery items looked delicious.
