I had a LivingSocial deal here - 2 nights, $150 bucks (included bottle of sparkling wine, 2 truffles and $30 dining credit for their restaurant downstairs). I love deals! My husband and I drove through the neighborhood and we started to get a bit skeptical. The hotel is situated in a neighborhood - there's a high school across the street. There isn't a lot to do in the immediate area (though there is a very cute beachfront park within walking distance - we spent a few hours down there). It seemed like a very strange for a hotel location, but we continued on. Each room is named after a region known for it's wine - we were in the Stellenbosch room - a leopard print chair, some giraffes and travel books for Africa embellished the room. Themes are fun.The shower was amazing! Multiple shower heads - I couldn't help but sing "Africa" by Toto. The bed was super cozy.We ended up locking ourselves out of our room very early in our stay. At a normal hotel, that's an easy fix, just head down to the front desk. At the Sheridan Hotel, the office hours are sporadic. We didn't know if we were going to be able to get back in. Luckily, we heard papers rustling inside the locked office and knocked. The owner was insider and she was incredibly nice and helped us out. Phew! The hours for the restaurant downstairs were strange too - closed on Mondays. Open only for brunch on Tuesday and Wednesday, then open full service the rest of the week. We had lunch there on Tuesday and it was delicious (Applewood Salad for me and my husband had the Chicken Panini - we both cleaned ours plates). So, in closing - the location is a bit strange and you need to be pretty self sufficient since the hours are sporadic, but the rooms are beautiful and comfy, the restaurant was tasty and the customer service was wonderful. I would recommend this hotel for a romantic weekend away where you don't plan on leaving the room much.

High quality yet affordable hotel and restaurant. Everything from the bed to the doors to the shower to the soap are exceptional. Nothing is ornate but everything has a sense of quality to it. Well designed. Super clean. There are only about 12 rooms so call ahead.Location is certainly too far south of downtown Milwaukee to walk but the area around the hotel is a beatiful neighborhood on Lake Michigan. We took some time and walked down to the lake. Be very careful because much of the terrain to the lake are very dangerous cliffs but there is a paved trail to the north of the park maintenance building. The restaurant is also well designed. I was told the designer was brought in from Norway. The food is creative and not ordinary. Courtyard is splendid. Comfortable settings. This place is a jewel! We were traveling through and decided to stay here instead of Chicago. We found a gem. Very adorable. Romantic but not too cutesy. Quiet but there is some airplane traffic noise. I would stay here again.

We stayed at the Sheridan House this weekend and were so impressed with the service and genuine hospitality shown to us. We stayed in the beautiful Napa California room. The room was very clean. The shower is exquisite, you won't want to get out. We attended a private party in the cafe then had breakfast the next morning. We loved all of the food that was served and were very impressed with everything overall! We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Absolutely love this place! We walked in to a super friendly host who sat us next to the fireplace which was beautiful. The waitress was very friendly and fast. Food was reasonably priced and tasted so great! Definitely would and have recommended to friends in the area!

I love this place! We went for our anniversary. What a great experience. We may even make this a tradition. The rooms are all themed with hot tubs. There was no better way I could imagine getting away while still being in Wisconsin.

Cute place, and they cook poached eggs pretty darn well. Menu had a good variety of options. Everyone was happy with food, I just did not care for the service. They seemed rushed and unpersonable (except for the host at least). Once we ordered, it took forever to get our food, and then the waitress only brought 3 of the 4 plates. She brought my plate a minute later but she didn't even say anything, so I just felt forgotten about when she left me with no food; made my friends had to wait too. She didn't ask if we wanted separate checks, so we had to wait again for her to ring our tickets again. I also had ordered a sandwich to go and I was very clear to say no cheese. Come to find out, there was still cheese on my sandwich when I went to eat it on my flight, so nothing I could do about it. My baby has a milk allergy, so I can't eat dairy. Unfortunately, I already ate one half because the cheese was melted into the bread and it was hard to see. It's so lazy that service can't accommodate food specifications due to either laziness or inattentiveness. These can cause real problems for people. I'd love to come back here for the food, but really hope that service steps up their game.

Went there this morning and unfortunately left after waiting 10 minutes at our table without being greeted by a server. It did not appear to be particularly busy. Finally a server that I had seen pass our table around 3 times acknowledge us and told us that he will be with us in a few minutes. We already had been waiting 10 minutes and up to this point had been ignored by same waiter. I told him no thanks that we are leaving since we didn't want to wait a few more minutes to at least be offered coffee or water. He responded with an attitude that he's training someone. His respond should have been "im sorry" and taken our drink order. Not offer an excuse. Too many options in the city to put up with bad service and altitude
