This is a 2-part review. Let's start with the Venue itself. What a beautifully intimate theater with wonderful acoustics. Parking is plentiful and free which makes it a perfect place to see a theater production. We saw Prelude to a Kiss, a Milwaukee Rep production and it was Broadway worthy. The casting was perfect and the chemistry between the actors made it so entertaining. The set changes were seamless and the orchestra melted into the story. I enjoyed the show very, very much! This is my first experience at Sharon Lynne Wilson Center and I look forward to many more events in the future.

I had never heard of this center until recently and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. I preformed in a dance showcase and saw a lot of the center which patrons would not normally view. Overall the space is great! The main area has high vaulted ceilings, intermixed with nature design detailing around a fireplace focal point. There is a bar off to the side, where hard and soft beverages can be purchased. And to the left of the main hall, there is a large outdoor patio, which surely would be lovely in the summer. The backstage areas were normal, nothing extraordinary, just functional spaces for hair, makeup, and waiting areas. My recommendation for improvement would be that I noticed certain things like the carpet aisle in the main theater was tearing away at points and some seats in the audience were looking quite worn, fabric wearing off the edges. And the women's rest room could use an update. Tickets to the dance event were not cheap and would want the audience to feel that they are in a well-maintained theater. Lastly, staff at the box office was very helpful. Definitely trying to accommodate everything during covid performances!

Just saw the Squirrel Nut Zippers here last night and it was awesome. My wife and I loved the venue and the option of a seeing great entertainment outside the downtown Milwaukee area. This is not the only reason I rate this venue so high. Two other things, my daughter took a acting class at this facility and it was a wonderful experience. Secondly, they had some great art on display. It ls a great facility supporting the arts here in WI.

Very poorly managed establishment, that will SPAM you endlessly once they get your email. I'm located on the West Coast, yet this ridiculous establishment continues to email me, even though I have no affiliation with them in any way whatsoever. Nor would I ever, after knowing their unethical practices.

The Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts is a beautiful place! I've had the privilege of playing in several pit bands here (years ago). We also had our wedding photos taken here in May 2010. I'd really like to give it 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up (since I have to).Pros : - This theater is an awesome place to play in. I was in the pit band for a few productions and it was really cool to play here. It's a modern facility and pretty state-of-the-art.- Easy in and easy out, enough room in elevators to load drums and other bigger instruments.- If you see a show here, it's a really nice facility with beautiful, ornate artwork and a soaring fireplace that goes all the way up to the (crazy high) ceiling.- The sound is wonderful!- Beautiful sculpture / art outside! ("The Joy of Music") It made for an interesting and unusual group wedding photo, and we get comments on the picture all the time.Cons (Solely for using the facility for our wedding photos) :I was disappointed there were a few things they did not clarify before we had our photos taken. Mainly : 1. They wouldn't allow us to use the theater for our photos2. They locked the grand piano in the main area (by the fireplace). When we had our photos taken we had to work around the large, ugly lock. Unfortunately we were also told we really couldn't use the piano but did it anyway.3. Communication was not as much as I had expected. 4. For the price we paid, we hoped to get more.We initially booked the SLWC to utilize their theater for our photos. Since we couldn't go in (and we found that information out at the last minute - we were initially told we could use the theater) we had to improvise. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but your wedding day should be pretty relaxed and un-stressed (hence the planning ahead of these things!) All in all it's a nice place, I wouldn't hesitate to go see a show here. They tend to bring in national acts and some unknowns, but either way it's a great place to see a concert. In terms of using them for a wedding facility - I'm not so sure about that, as our experience wasn't as perfect as I had hoped it would be. I also realize this review is 3 years late, and hopefully they've changed a few things about their policy for using the SLWC as a venue.

For the past seven years I've had the pleasure of attending many events at the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center. It's a beautiful setting and I love that my children have been able to perform various orchestra, band, and theatre productions here because of their relationship with Elmbrook. To be able to have the experience as a young student to perform in a professional venue is a treasure! The entertainment lineup is great and varied. Truly something for everyone!

We attended the performance of the Squirrel Nut Zippers on May, 19, 2018. We paid 78.00 each for tickets, drove 100 miles round trip to attend and the sound quality was terrible. You could only make out every other word when the performers spoke or sang. It was extremely disappointing. I don't think we will be attending another performance at the Wilson Center. Who ever was in charge of the sound quality did a poor job.Very disappointing for the money we spent, we expected quality sound. This is a center for the arts after all.

I am reviewing a class that I took at the Sharon Wilson Center. I have been here before and love it. I live an hour away. Their Hidden River Arts Festival is top notch, if you ever get a chance to go (in September).I just finished up a really special 4-week encaustic wax class that they put on.I live an hour away and that is a class not offered much anywhere, so I was pretty excited when I saw it on the schedule. The teacher, Matt, was very knowledgable in working with materials (as we expect) and super encouraging and engaging with us. This was purely and adult play time class to be light or make something serious, but we were encouraged to play.We made a big mess and they don't mind, these are working classrooms. So, I will be perusing the schedule a bit more over the next year and hoping I can come again to these small workshops.I loved it.

Great venue very nice theatre except for the douchebag usher that works there. What a motherfucker. He grabbed my ticket so hard I thought my hand was going with it. Good news is he will probably die before I finish writing this.
