During the worst of COVID this place took a downturn but they are back up on top. Typical Puerto Rican service, so it's friendly and slow. Unlike other Boricuan restaurants, no one here speaks American English, but that doesn't even slow me down a little. When I've got a taste for chuletas, I'll figure out a way to get them on my plate. Besides, I wouldn't want to eat in a Puerto Rican restaurant where they could only speak English. So because my Spanish isn't very good, I end up ordering more of the different fried dumplinas, pastilillos, and empanadillos than I can eat because I'm never completely sure what's in them. You'd think I'd remember, but it doesn't matter, almost as good reheated the next day. Be careful, it's a dangerous intersection for pedestrians.

I have eaten at most of the restaurants in this area except this one because of the lack of pictures of the food, no website and no menu to look at. Two things will happen today which is restaurant of the week and a Steve stop by. The place is nice looking with a tropical colorful theme. The have a steam table at the counter with some pre made goodness as a visual come on and get something.I ordered the rellenos de papa and the pork jibarito with PR rice. I will admit like the other reviews service was slow for me being the only person in the place and a good 10 minutes before I heard my sandwich sizzling on the grill. The rellenos de papa is basically a ball of mashed potatoes with a ground meat filling fried to a golden brown. This was bland and needed seasoning but still good with a thin crispy shell. The Puerto Rican rice was also bland with pigeon peas but cooked perfect Al Dente and not mushy. The pork jibartio was very good with a nice garlicky flavor. It's this crispy plantain fried nicely, hearty roast pork, cheese, lettuce, tomato and a very garlicky mayo and I mean fresh garlic flavor. This version was the tastiest, meatiest and biggest pork jibartio I have had in town.I enjoyed the food and like other reviewers I'm not going to take stars away for the slow service because I have never been to Puerto Rico and for all I know this is how service is in Puerto Rico. I have a known good place specific foods like pizza, burger etc etc and I think this will be my pork jibartio place because of the garlic Mayo.

Order my food for them to tell me they ran out of rice smh ok fine sub it for something else but you know as long as it takes to get our drinks they could've made some more rice! Stop taking care of Togo orders and take care of people who are sitting here and waiting to be served ! Nope!!! This is NOT how bacalaitos or pastelillos de carne molida are supposed to look or taste! The bacalaitos are way too big and fried way too long. They are greasy and taste like salty fried batter. You can't taste the fish or any seasoning besides salt. The pastelillos are damn near burned. I am so disappointed. The waitress was pleasant but they definitely need another cook! Yuk!!

This food was horrible. I am full blooded puerto rican from humacao, pr. So I know what real , Sabor of Puerto Rican food is. We ordered 1 acapurria, it was cold and no taste , then ordered Carne Frita con arroz blanco y habichuelas, also a plate of chuleta Kan Kan con arroz blanco con habichuelas. It has no sabor. Very bland, Carne frita wasn't even fried all the way like the real puerto Ricans make it. And there was no seasoning on beans or meat. And chuleta was mostly all fat. Then had to wait forever for our drinks. Very bad experience. Definitely will not come back.

The service was beyond horrible and only 8 people were in the restaurant at the time. The beans, jibarito was horrible. The waitress was talking disrespectfully about customers , and had a rude approach taking our orders, the cook lady came out and was looking like she wanted to punch someone in the face, making weird angry faces. That i ended up telling my family let's get the heck out of here now and told them they're rude. I think they had drama amongst each other as well. My brother in law is well known in the Hispanic community and recommend the restaurant, ( my brother in law hasn't been there in awhile) we are on vacation and it was a horrible experience. However, the mofongo was good but the rest HORRIBLE. None of us , including my family that lives here will ever return..

The food definitely did not disappoint we loved the fried plantains and sweet plantains as appetizers. My sandwich was amazing and my husband liked his pork chops and my son loved his octopus dish. The flan made me do a happy dance after the first bite. But what really stuck out was the service. Felix was so attentive, so helpful with making decisions on what to order and just incredibly sweet and hospitable. I can't compliment him enough he was the best!
