Senft's Tavern

I have been driving past this place for years and since it was a lazy Saturday and work was done early I decided to stop over check them out. The bartender was very friendly but once again didn't know what a gin Rickey was but that's ok because no one has so far. The place is your typical Wisconsin dive bar with the bar and tables around it. Tons of TVs and a pool table with chance machines. One very cool thing which is smart is that they give you a small basket of salty chips that looked like sour cream and chive, salt doesn't really make you drink more but some people might. The windows let in lots of natural light so it's not a dungeon feel. I think the table in back was enjoying playing gin because they kept shuffling a deck of cards. It's clearly a neighborhood hang out where everyone knows each other like most all bars and I'm the outsider because I'm always stopping at new places because it's who I am. I completely enjoyed my visit and I'm probably coming back since it's close to work.

We went here on a Friday evening after dinner. The parking lot isn't huge but ample parking. When you walk up to Senft's it appears very unassuming. As you walk into the bar you are transported into a time gone by. This isn't the place you go for fancy modern drinks example Jager Bombs. If your looking for a nice old fashioned, martini, or bottled beer this is your place. I will also mention this is a cash only establishment. They do have an ATM if you left your cash at home. Come check it out have a cocktail and enjoy this hidden gem.

This bar seem really on caught and unkept and cluttered like many bars I see in the Milwaukee area. The service was real slow and they seem to cater to people they know more than outsiders. The televisions in this bar are placed in a difficult area where you have to turn on the side to watch and basically this bar was a major disappointment. a place has outlived its service in the area

Want to go back to the '50's? Come here! The owners are up in age, but with age, comes wisdom, which means that they know how to make a mixed drink! My husband knows the son of the owners, so every once in a great while we might stop in for a drink or two. This place does have it's regulars, but they usually sit at the other end of the bar and don't bother anyone. My only complaint? The parking lot. There are no defined parking spaces, so you have to figure out how to not park someone in, when the lot begins to fill up. Other than that, it's easy in and easy out onto Forest Home.45/2015

It's old but great for sitting back and listening to the locals spin yarns about their days. The owners are great and I can't say enough kind words about them. It's meant for an older crowd, but I prefer that over the crazy busy sports pubs and specialty bars.

I love this place, I love the atmosphere when we're there and the door opens up I expect to see the Rat Pack to come walking in and belt out a tune people are friendly,bartenders are great, drinks are generous what more can you ask for. Keep going strong this is what we need A reminder of days gone by when life was a lot simpler. Oh and did I mention the free cheese and crackers

Just how a Wisconsin watering hole should be. The cleanest bar in Wisconsin. Great crowd, great service, great prices.

Best old fashioned in town! If you want the quintessential Wisconsin bar, this is it. I love family run establishments.
