I am a loyal Sendik's customer and within the past year started going to the Elm Grove location as the closer New Berlin location is not up to the standard I accept from this store. Today, however, may be the last time I go to a Sendik's period. I had a problem with the lack of customer service I received in the deli department and called the on duty manager who hung up on me. I told her there was a young man who just started today he was getting no help from his two coworkers. One of his coworkers ended up helping me how we she and the other young lady were too busy joking around. When I told the manger the girl had long hair and no hair net she asked me if the girl was wearing a hat to which I replied yes. The manager then told me the policy was they could have long hair as long as they were wearing a hat. I said fine. I then mentioned that the entire time I was at the counter the girl was chewing gum with her mouth open and looked like a cow chewing its cud. At that moment the manager asked me if I called for a customer service problem or to insult her employees. I told her it was not an insult and I didn't think it was professional for someone to chomp gum with their mouth open while preparing food. She said she agreed, told me she would talk to the employees. I told her I did not think the two girls should have chatted on and not helped the young man. The manager who was not there when the incident happened told me she didn't think that is what happed but they had video and audio so she would watch that and proceeded to hang up on me. As a customer I do not feel I am wrong to at the very least have the person helping me look at me or talk to me. The girl helping me had neither a hair net not a hat on so clearly the manager was wrong is assuming she had control over employees actions. I called the corporate office and asked that they contact me. I have never been treated this disrespectful ad a customer anywhere and I have lived in several states and overseas. I am hoping Sendik's corporate follows up. If not I will let people know to avoid the elm grove store as customers are not a priority there

Often find expired products from a year ago. Buyer beware so you don't have to return or make something with expired product. The Butcher was kind of aggressive this morning when I asked for a fresh piece of meat and then kept challenging me on what size I wanted. Could use a lot of training, customer service and soft skills. This is not the small town friendly feel one would expect from a neighborhood store

Horrible take out fish fry. We have gotten take out fish fry's at this Elm Grove Sendiks from time to time. Our very last time was this last Friday evening, October 16th, 2020. They keep changing their fish. This week it was some processed fake fish filet with too much undercooked breading which was served dripping with grease. It was disgusting, I had one bite then threw the rest in the garbage. Is no one supervising the deli employees at Sendiks in Elm Grove?

I've lived in the area for decades. I'd like to shop locally but this store makes so many mistakes at checkout I hate to go there. They charge multiple times for the same item. Charge the higher price, for the larger item, when I selected the smaller. They charge veggies by code number but stock items with one code in an area with a different code, only to find at checkout I've got the higher priced item. Although the store has a small town comfortable feel, my pocketbook feels terrible after a visit which requires me to closely check my receipt and go back to return and/or get a refund for the mistakes. The points system is a slam as well.

We live very close by making this a very convenient place to food shop. They have an extensive hot food bar, fresh salad and fruit bar. Lots of bakery goods. This store is hit or miss in so many ways. On service or product selections. However, despite a decent range of a selection that they have, this store is so typically out of stock on many things. And, especially when we need them. The Sendiks in New Berlin, WI. is so much better with a much larger selection. I'd say that the management at this Elm Grove location is so-so. They sure like to sell you the alcohol though ($$)! As someone is 'right on it' in this dept. The attitude here is kind of, "we don't truly care". I think the newly opened, very close by, Trader Joe's is much better as is their staff.Update: FYI... Save your receipts. Unfortunately you have to in order to get your money back for the crap food you're sold all too often! We've experienced bad or rotten produce. Also, don't waste your hard earned money on the hot food bar! Especially, when what they've put out sits there for hours, and they do NOT replenish it with fresh items. So annoying spending this kind of money for this crap. They truly don't care. I'm not just complaining, but I speak the honest to god truth. They don't want to improve either. Go elsewhere.

Customer service at the Sendiks in Elm Grove has a lot to be desired. I have been a customer for many years and have continually seen this location get worse. I strongly suggest that the managers train the younger ones in areas to be attentive to customers. I went to purchase soup at 6:15 the other night. No soup in any pot..in fact the bottoms of the pots were burnt . The hot food area was a mess. Disgusting. Lack of service at the deli....getting ready to close...900...not 615.I went to the next closest location..Wauwatosa...better serviceAgain managers...train..instead of making sure all the cans are straight...Not sure if I will continue shopping there..Extremely disappointed

Generally I like Sendik's but I will say that the Wednesday $5 sushi is to be avoided. Not only lackluster, but I suspect they have it all made the night before and store it. My visit last week, the ginger that accompanied the tuna roll was frozen. Thawed out sushi? - no thanks. Accident waiting to happen.

I bought a bakery item at Sendik's in elm grove and I wanted to serve it to guests it was a little orange cream torte. And I sliced it in half and I got half of it and I was eating it and I found a 2 inch piece of plastic in the desert. I started choking and brought it up. It was lucky I found it and it didn't cause more problems. I brought it back to the store today and guess what they offered me just to get a new piece of dessert or the money. I bought a set of English muffins and a couple of grapes which were only $1.49. But they would not even give me the grapes for free they said that the English muffins cost the same as the desert. I will never go to Sendik's again. They should stand behind what they sell so be careful if you buy anything there unles you want some plastic too Nancy 9/5/22

I have been treated very poorly at this store multiple times. I only go when the steak my husband likes, is on sale, otherwise I will not shop there despite being very close to my home. I am alway polite but they have been consistently rude to me each time. they have several old grumpy women at the registers that never smile and are very rude and angry if I ask a question. of course I have to wonder if being Hispanic has something to do with this. Today was the last drop, will never go back.

This is the worst store ever! Issue after issue, almost every time I go there. Most of the time their produce looks old, wrinkled and BAD. Many times I had to walk out, and buy it at fresh tyme or pick & save. I went in to today for a few things! Now remember this is the day before thanksgiving! No ground pork. All they had was about half a pound or GREY ground pork in the butchers case. Butcher said " this is all I have". No green beans either. It was mid morning, so it's not like they sold out.The time before that I bought five bottles of wine, on sale, Big red monster is the name of the wine. I was doing the math on the way home, I live about a quarter mile away. Got home, checked my receipt, they charged me for six bottles. I was going to just forget about it, too much trouble for me to deal with it. My wife said NO WAY JOSE! She called them, & they gave her the runaround. I love Sendik's, period! It's just a-shame I have to drive like seven miles away to the one in New Berlin!
