Sendik’s Food Market

My family has been going to Sendiks for over 20 years and we LOVE IT, and the staff has always been so kind.....but not today.At around 5:30pm today, we went to Sendiks to quickly pick up some necessities. The young lady by the self checkout was incredibly rude to my mother and I. Two of our items rang up wrong and we asked for some help. She told us to wait for it to time out and then walked away. She didn't say anything after so we thought we should just try a different self checkout register. She later came back and told us we were complicating things and needed to go back. She said this with a very rude tone and it sounded like she thought we should've known this. The lack of communication made our quick trip very long and frustrating. Also, everytime we leave self checkout, there is always some kind worker saying goodbye to us, but this woman just glared at us...

Why does Sendik's continue to maintain below standard levels of cleaning for their seafood department? The smell, when you get near this area (this happens at different times in ALL the stores) is so BAD is makes you want to leave. For this reason, I would NEVER purchase any fresh meat or seafood products from them. The rest of the store is nice, but, please, clean up, and maintain, your seafood department. It's revolting.

Love the express pickup service. Well worth the money. Always receive quality items. Today the wrong item was included and after a call to the store, an employee delivered the correct item to my house! Sent fresh flowers as well! Can't find better customer service than that! Thank you!

Sendik's is our go to store deli food, deli meat, cheese, and pretty much everything food/snack wise! Their pretzels are AMAZING and come with 3 Sendik's made dips! Unfortunately if you get them at the store they do not come with pretzel salt, but if you go right next door to Lionstail Brewery, you can order from the tables and they bring you a fresh one with all the salt you could want! We love Sendik's, and we are so glad we live close to them!

It's hard to overstate the value of having a local, reasonably well-stocked, grocer like Sendik within walking distance of my new home in Wauwatosa. Too bad the prices are, quite frankly, the highest you'll find in the area...including Whole Foods, and the staff are completely uninterested in helping customers find what they need.

The North Avenue location is my local Sendik's which I love for the convenience. So I was happy to see they had a Friday Fish Fry. There were several customers waiting in line to be served when I arrived on a cold Friday for the takeout. I was very impressed as my turn came that a fresh pan of recently fried fish arrived to replenish the serving tray. The pancakes and fries were under a heat lamp. The fillets were huge!!! The dinner included 2 cod fillets, and ether 2 potato pancakes or fries, coleslaw, apple sauce, and a slice of marble rye bread, choices are cod ($9.99) or walleye ($15.99). To my disappointment the fish was mostly batter, the consistency of underdone hush puppies and both potato options were cold. I will continue to shop here, but won't get the Fish Fry again!

I was having lunch down the street so I stopped in for a couple items. I have driven past the place more times than I can remember but I just never stopped in and I'm glad because I hated the place.Right from the parking my car to getting out of the lot it was just dreadful. The store is small and packed on my visit. The deli sucked because you bump or get bumped through out the whole area. I needed some deli items and I couldn't find the meat and cheese case after two passes before I realized they are in a stand up cooler on the back wall and you order off a meat and cheese list with out seeing what you are ordering WTF who does that.The place looked like it had a nice liquor dept for the size of the store. There was a salad/fruit bar with pre made entrees. The rest of the store didn't get explored because after the deli nightmare I got the hell out of there.It was nice to have a express check out for people with a couple items to get out quickly.Now for the best part, getting out of the parking lot was just a joke. Five or more cars would not let me back out, didn't they want my spot ?. Never again will I stop here.

I shop here almost daily just two or items at a time keeps our meals fresh! Yes store is tight but take your time there is lots of goodies to see. Staff is fantastic. Hispanic lady in produce doesn't know how to slow down! She is a powerhouse! Young man in seafood long hair mustache is knowledgeable and super helpful. Even the clerks at self checkout go the extra mile. So much nicer than the mega marts. I go to buy great food not to workout! Best of in Milwaukee.

I Loved all the delicious foods & wine everywhere, I've never been in this store, I came for the Friday Fry Fish which was very tasty the apple sauce was delicious but the coleslaw wasn't what I expected, I would have preferred more apple sauce than the coleslaw. I felt like I was transported to Italy. I loved every minute in that store and will definitely return.

Convenience is the only positive. Otherwise, entitled customers and staff. Aisles are very narrow so move your large butt and cart over so others can get by!!!!!! Stop running into me at the fish fry or salad bar stations! Do not walk straight at me like I'm invisible and expect me to move!! Do not walk behind my moving vehicle when backing out like you expect me to see you and your small child!!!!
