Soupy, melted and bubbling gelato which they seemed pleased to leave in display even after I mentioned it was all afoul.

Nice, upscale grocery store. Carpet, cleanliness, and well stocked shelves are a welcome site. We went to their bakery and bought donuts and bagels for breakfast. I had the bagel which was very fresh and good tasting. We did the self-checkout (which I hate, especially with any produce) but made it through with our two apples and pastries. Nice experience.

Pretty okay supermarket, prices are a little high, and they seem a little short on staff, which does seem to be the new normal. I'm a little surprised at how expensive their prepared food is, sticker prices seem higher than I might pay in a restaurant. Clean, bright, adequate parking.

The bakery is INCREDIBLE. I have no idea if it's homemade or brought in from somewhere, but either way I love it. The scones are delicious - specifically the blueberry scone and it has this glaze on it that is just amazing. The chocolate chip scone is also quite good but is more cookie like than scone - nonetheless worth a trip over to sendik's.

It's hard to believe but this location which has sooooo much potential could be one of the most unimpressive groceries I've ever seen. We stopped in today simply to get some beverages on our way to park. The beverages are located located adjacent to the Desert section and meats... both were utterly shocking! The meat section smelled horribly... I can scarcely describe it in any other terms than sanguine. The gelato section was unbelievable... all melted and soupy... bubbly even. I mentioned it to one of the staff and they seems to think that's how it was supposed to look... ugh!!! See the pics to understand.

We have long been fans of Mama Mia's garlic bread. Ecstatic when we found the bread at Sendiks. We bought several of them and were dying to try them. The first one we opened had almost no butter and was coated with some kind of brown dust that must have been 1/4"thick. It was no bueno. The second had a lot of butter and was close to the original in the restaurant. This evening we opened the third one and the brown stuff was back with no butter and dry bread. At close to $7 a pop this is unacceptable. Please, someone at Sendiks call Mama Mia's and have them more closely monitor their people for quality control. This gives both Sendiks and Mama Mia's a black eye and is a poor representation of two fine establishments.

Food is good and a bit overpriced sometimes but overall it is good and if you want cheap donuts you can find day old donuts in the bakery and it is nice that they don't just throw them away. The service is good people try to be good although there are some people there who are a bit antisocial. It feels good there is music and it is nice to see and it looks great. Also, it does accept apple pay I don't know why that isn't in the description.

I don't necessarily have anything against Sendik's over any other food market. They have a decent selection sometimes more expensive then others in the area and sometimes ok deals. I however do have a problem with the Hartland Sendik's and the staff and management there. My wife has been there a ton and spent literally thousands of dollars in groceries and other items in the last few months and has been treated very disrespectful for a customer that has done nothing wrong. The first case the police were called because she "spent too much time in the store" (more than average customers) looking for things but still purchased over $1500 worth of items since they have a fair amount more than just groceries. Then yet again, she was walking around to purchase things and was putting things in a reusable bag they sell there to make it convenient in the cart and a worker came up to her questioning it and saying she can take it to the checkout for her or she should get a basket or something so she isn't putting things into a bag she is purchasing anyways. I am pretty every store I have ever been goes through bags at checkout to make sure everything is accounted and paid for and she would have pulled them out at checkout anyways to scan everything. The Hartland Sendik's, in my opinion, is by far customer friendly. I avoid it most times because even as a very honest person I always feel their employees are breathing over my should watching and judging every motion and if pick up something wrong to put in my cart, they will call me out on it and accuse me with the intent of stealing. They have already don't that multiple times to my wife even though she is far from a person that would every even consider that.

Whatever you do, don't order the thanksgiving family meal to go. That was about the worst meal I ever had. The meat was not carved turkey and the meat tasted terrible and cheap. The green bean casserole tasted like chemicals and the mashed potatoes were just pure butter. The to-go containers were more high quality than the food. I will never trust any of their catering or "hot" food again.

By far this is the worst Sendik's store. The front desk staff is not friendly. Quality of meat and produce choices are horrible for the prices they charge. Picknsave and PiggyWiggly offers much better quality products IMO. We need a better grocery store in the lake country.
