I had a coupon for Schwai's that I wanted to use, so my family and I made it one of our stops on a Saturday morning. The store is gross. Junk "antiques" in half of it, multiple large display cases that weren't working and looked like they were from the 1970s, and the only meat available in the case that was working was meat for slicing. Nothing fresh and unfrozen like chicken breasts, steaks, or ground meat. All of the frozen items were in chest freezers, which made it difficult to dig through compared to standing freezers, and nothing was labeled with a weight or price, so it's a blind guess as to how much you're spending. The owner was pleasant, but the lady working behind the counter was flustered and rude. I asked to have one of the packages of brats weighed so I could try to figure out what things cost. She rolled her eyes, heavily sighed, and slightly ripped the brats out of my hand to weigh them. She had calmed down by the time I eventually checked out, but I didn't appreciate the reaction to a reasonable question earlier.I wouldn't go back. There are so many other meat markets north of Milwaukee that look better, have a better selection, and I've not experienced poor customer service at.

Schwai's is amazing. Since closing in Cedarburg I drive to Fredonia. The key is that their sausage is not made from trimmings rather from prime cuts. Ask for what you want, like, beef tenderloin, thick cut pork chops, bone in ribeyes....they have a method of freezing brats in particular which upon defrosting and cooking is as if nothing was ever frozen!

I've made purchases when I visited my brother who lives near Cedarburg. Outstanding housemade headcheese and sausages. My little niece and nephews really enjoyed them too. I would purchase if they shipped to New Jersey.

Their Badger brats are worth the drive. Stock up! Delicious for grilling. My brother-in-law claims they are his favorite brat. I'd say they're my number two. Which is great considering we are brat aficionados. I haven't tried their Packer brats yet, I'm too addicted to the Badgers. But I bet they are just as awesome. Next time we'll throw those on the Weber and crack a Miller!

Although I have never been to the market, I frequently purchase my brats and Italians from the local farmers market. The breakfast sandwiches, hot off the grill are huge and absolutely mouthwatering. The brats, ever so slightly smoked are the best. If you are lucky, Tommy Schwai will be there to give you the best advice for grilling! He and his entire team seem to take pride in providing customers with an amazing product.

Four stars for how good their brats are but what a run down shop. I can't express enough how run down their store is. I hope where they make the brats isn't the same.

Best brats and sausages ever! We drive 25 miles round trip to get them. They are much longer than regular brat buns. The hot Italians are really hot. Very good beef sticks too!

I went there for the Mustripen and ended up with some bloodwust and liverwust. I am sad after reading the reviews that we did not get any brats while we were there. So far we have not made the wursts so I can't yet speak how they hold up to authentic german versions but in looking around we found their meat sticks. The dried ones... their HOT sausage sticks are amazing!!! We drove away, tried one and drove right back and got several more packages! Only wish we we lived closer.
