Schnuck's Supermarket

I was in the Cherry Valley area earlier today, and needed to grab a couple of items for a July 4th cookout.I came across this store Schnuck's Supermarket - it's a massive grocery store - imagine a bigger jewel Osco. They have a nice selection of groceries, but I also found that I can get a lot of the same groceries for more cheaper from Jewel Osco or Mariano's or Aldi/Walmart.It's fine if you want to come see a different grocery store, but nothing too special I guess.

Military veteran parking always wins points in my book and it's nice to see it in Illinois as well. I've always liked the unique selection of items I can find here. I also like that McDonalds shares the same parking lot if you're looking for a quick bite to eat.

Great prices and wide verity of products. Also very conveniently located. Staff was helpful and friendly. I'll be going back here for sure!

The reason I shop Schnucks is it's the closest grocery store to my home. I shop sale, as regular prices are super high compared to valli. The workers are always very nice, I almost always get the same man at checkout, Kevin. The store is clean and organized. My only complaint is every single time a sales item is missed and I pay double what I'd ever pay on said item. It aggravates me and I don't go back for at least month.

If you love over paying for your groceries, come here. If i didnt live so damn close i'd choose any other place besides here.

If you remember Logli's, this is basically the same place. They just changed their name to the parent company. This location isn't the biggest or flashiest one of their stores, but it's pretty nice. The Deli, Seafood and Meat counters are all good ones. The staff is friendly when helping you. The liquor department has a decent selection of beer, wine and spirits.The rest of the store is clean and well stocked. Again, this isn't like one of their flagship stores such as the State St. Location, but it is a nice smaller neighborhood one.

This place has gone downhill so much it's almost unbelievable. When I drove into the parking lot at 10:30 AM on a Wednesday, I noticed there were carts all over the parking lot, including blocking two handicapped parking spaces. I get inside and couldn't help but notice 5 employees standing around twiddling their thumbs, looking bored to death. Once again, there weren't any electric carts for my mom to use (she has a back injury) I take that back, there were two available carts but the batteries were completely dead. It would be different if this were the first time this has happened or even the second, but this has happened at least 5 times now. I asked to speak to a manager but one never showed up and after waiting several minutes, we left. We used to love shopping here but we will NOT be back even though we'll have to drive across town to shop.

Every year elementary teachers spend 100's on their students so it's great when companies donate goods. Lots of teachers go to grocery stores for brown paper bags. They are a life saver at supply drop off and good for crafts. I went today to get 21 bags for supply night. The cashier was very rude about it, so I asked if there was someone else to ask. She went to the customer service desk, came back and said 21 is too many and only gave me 10. I spent $16 on goldfish crackers , I guess I should of asked for a refund since they were rude.

Found Buffalo trace for under retail price. Okay selection. Don't forget to check behind the register for more bottles. They have many bottles at or below retail/msrp. They do sell buffalo trace products as well.

I will not order groceries through Instacart again, pickup or delivery. Sure, the website promises 'free pickup', but all the prices for groceries are more expensive online - and pickup is subject to change without advance notice. Loads of excuses, from 'it's the holidays' to Covid... You have to prepay too, so don't use a credit card. You will find, as I did eventually, that the order was going to take TWO DAYS to complete - no guarantees, and that a refund will take FIVE TO TEN BUSINESS DAYS.Instacart has no problem taking your money, but getting them to give it back is like getting a politician/real estate developer to pay his taxes. This is the primary reason I won't recommend this service.If my knees ever heal up, I'll shop in store again (my back and hip are never going to) - but I'll make the effort to go to a different vendor.
