This was the new restaurant of the week so I stopped over for lunch. The place is on a side street and a house converted to a restaurant on the first floor with street parking. The place has a cute bar as you walk in and the dining room in back with a weird tropical/western decor. The place was empty and I hate eating in empty restaurants but I was going do it anyway but in the end I changed my order to carry out. The staff was friendly and had no problem explaining the menu to me and they have daily specials so ask them. I started with a watermelon margarita that was average and served in a cheap plastic cup like I was at a frat party. The daily special was I believe the sancocho style three meat soup and the friendly woman serving me gladly offered me a sample to try and the kitchen made a full serving which I showed my server because I can't accept the full serving at no charge as a sample tasting for free, it's not fair to the restaurant so they brought me a smaller portion. The soup was delicious with out all the corn cobs etc with just the pork chops pieces and potatoes in broth. I said it's good but I think I will do combination plate she explained to me with shredded pork, plantains, Puerto Rican rice, salad and a potato ball. The potato ball was different from my previous orders because it seemed non greasy and baked with a custard texture filling inside and good. The plantains were delicious with a nice garlic sauce sprinkle, I would give back the ketchup/mayo sauce and ask for a cup of the garlic sauce instead because it's good. The shredded pork was good with a mix of some moist and dryer pieces with a nice roast pork flavor. The Puerto Rican rice was cooked perfectly and not mushy, seasoned nicely like everything in the plate. Everything was seasoned nicely and not bland like all the Puerto Rican food I have had.Overall I really enjoyed my lunch and I would totally go back for a full bowl of that soup.

The food was very good unfortunately has a very small menu. No standard appetizers that you are expecting at a Puerto Rican restaurant. The dining area is extremely hot on a summer day. Keep that in mind.

I'll start with the wonderful, attentive, and cheerful customer service. The setting was tidy and well-run. The dining area is somewhat separated from the bar area which is great. I couldn't feel any central air, which made it uncomfortable to eat in. I would definitely come back just to sit at the bar and jam to salsa music all while enjoying a few cocktails. It didn't take long for the food to arrive. The most crucial part: absolutely delicious, authentic Puerto Rican food! Portion was good but when the food tastes this good you just want a lot of it. You also received tostones and the traditional side salad of iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato. Other restaurants charge extra for the tostones. The menu is small and hopefully they'll expand in the future. It was disappointing that there weren't any frituras available when we went, especially since the menu also had "mollejas" (pickled gizzards with green bananas). What! I've never seen this before and I love it! When I don't want to cook at home, I can quickly pick up dinner at this location. In conclusion, this is the place to go if you want truly authentic Puerto Rican food, but hey, don't take my word for it. Put it to the test.

Very. disappointing, the loudness of the patrons in the bar using vulgar language when decent people and children are eating . Pretty disturbing and disrespectful to the other patrons that just want to eat in peace.
