We always like coming here on Sunday for their special. It used to be $2 dogs but prices have gone up (like everywhere else). Now $3. The staff help out with any questions but you can tell they are there to sling dogs. Probably won't chat you up too much with the crowds they get. They turn their orders out arriving and probably have half the clientele grabbing to go. Nice patio area to enjoy your food.Even with $3 dogs (and $4.75 brats), this place is a great spot for a quick and cheap lunch. Don't forget to get the meal deal for $3 (fries and a drink).

Looking for a Italian Beef, sub or hot dog? If so this is a great family diner with great food. Friendly service with a casual atmosphere. I'd stop at Sammy's again for a quick meal!

I have always loved Sammy's and had a taste for Chicago dog today. I stepped inside and ordered my food as I waited himself came up to the register area. The entire time he was up there bitching and complaining about his staff members, telling stories of how one was arrested for being high on marijuana while driving his motorcycle, talking about politics and basically just being completely unprofessional. I can see going to an establishment and the staff is unprofessional but when it comes to the actual owner, that is just sad. I myself do not care what your political affiliation is and it is none of my business. That is the end for me. I do not patronize any establishment that will sit and degrade, other political candidates in a public fashion. Regardless of affiliation. The food: hot dog was good as always, fries tasted like old grease. I will go to Martino's........

Tried the Italian Beef today with hot peppers and mozzarella and fries. I was very pleased with this messy goodness. The first few bites were a challenge and then I was able to manage it (that's a compliment). Tender, juicy beef and spicy peppers! Awesome.

Sammy's Taste of Chicago (Nov. 3, 2022)Visited Milwaukee/Chicago from Nov 2-5 with 2 of 3 days spent in the former. Decided to visit Sammy's since time constraints prevent me from having sufficient time to spend on cuisine in Chicago.As I was traveling cheap again and used public transportation as my primary means of traveling, I took the bus from downtown Milwaukee after visiting the Milwaukee Public Museum (A MUST visit while in Milwaukee!) on Thursday early afternoon. The one-way trip took about 45 minutes, and afforded you to see different sides of Milwaukee. It's about a 4 minute walk from the destination bus stop to the eatery. The pictures you see in the reviews are very descriptive of the place. I've included a picture of the one change to supplement with the latest info and prices and certain fees.Food-wise, I ended up ordering a Polish sausage combo as my sit-in meal. The main selling point of the Polish sold here is that it is prepared FRIED as opposed to grilled in almost all other places. Let's just say a fried Polish ups the taste with its crispr skin during the frying process. It is ordered Chicago style (Mustard, chopped onions, tomato and pickle slices - the only way to go!), and added the combo fries and drink which is priced 30 cents more than what most pictures reflected. The combo deal is a great buy as it included loads of fries even if that's more costly compared to the past. The takeaway sandwich if bratwurst was a little disappointing when eaten later however; should have gone with the Chicago dog instead. Anyways, the Polish was highly fulfilling, and it's a must have the next time I get there again.The owner (We talked about AT&T removing directory assistance!) and staff were pleasant. The kitchen staff were HIGHLY efficient. Based on my experiences, this is a 5 out of 5 star rating. It is a little out of the way, but if you do not have time to visit Chicago during your Milwaukke trip, definitely do not miss a visit to Sammy's.** Something I discovered while waiting for food and chatting with other customers: Sammy's still offers a senior discount, and certain free food with purchase (I think it's a free fry with 3 jumbo dogs purchased.)m It's no longer listed anywhere, but the store will honor these deals only if requested.Happy Eating !

Your standard delicious hot dog fare. Cute kitchie hot dog stand diner atmosphere. Tasty chicago dogs and polish. And the Italian beef is good too. And $2 dogs on Sundays!They have a cavalier attitude towards Covid. There is a sign on the door asking Covid positive customers not to come in. And another sign asking customers not to say anything if they see another customer not wearing masks. Staff was wearing masks over their mouths but not noses, and pulled their masks down to talk loudly and drink (in the food serving area).

Worst version of an Italian beef I've ever had. Au jus and packaged roast beef is not an Italian beef.

Hi there beef sandwiches are out of this world ; with motz ; fried onions ; toasted bun ( you have ask for that ) oh ya mushrooms and a side of gravy ! Awesome sandwich !!' Then get the side get either motz Sticks ; or seasoned tater nuggets chili cheese fries all 3 are Amazing !!!! The store is very clean !!! Small sitting area !!! But the food is AMAZING!!! I worked there for 23 years and I miss the great food !!!! Try the food !!!!

Chicago Dogs are outstanding not to mention the fries were fresh and hot. Can't wait to go again.
