If you're looking for some classic American food at an affordable price, Sammies is the place to go! They have a wide variety of food options and combos, all for a great price. My favorite is the hot dog combo! Their menu ranges from hot dogs to burgers to gyros, there is something for everyone! You have the option to take out or dine in, either way the service is quick and friendly! The restaurant itself has a hometown vibe with sports decor all around. A great spot for a quick bite or to celebrate a game victory with the team.

Went there today to try and a new place for chilis cheese hot dogs (Portillo's was very rude and won't ever get my business) and I found it. Good chili, good dog and also a good Chicago style dog. Minus the cucumber. And friendly staff. I will be going back soon. They are my new go to place foe chili cheese dogs and hot dog. .

I think I think the food is OK, but like most restaurants, the prices have really went up. I just don't think I can enjoy the food since the prices are ridiculously high that you once got a reasonable price.

Person who was at register was not friendly at all didn't even ask if we wanted our food to go or to eat there very unprofessional but other then that food was great

Love their Italian beef and gyros. I like the fries on this location compared to the one in Round lake. The staffs are pretty nice too and provide great service. I have nothing bad to say about them and whenever I crave Italian beef sandwich or gyros I'm willing to drive to this location.

I can't believe I've never reviewed this place!   I've been coming here since 2002, and it never disappoints.Through the years, I've probably tried over 75% of the menu offerings.  Some of my favorites include (in no particular order) the:  Italian Beef, Gyro, Philly Cheesesteak, Samburger, Chicago Dog, Chili Dog, Chicken Sandwich, and the Combo.  Oh, and the shakes and malts!  I love their onion rings and fries too!  Today I had: a Samburger with cheese, fries, and a drink.  The total with tax was $9.35; which is a relative bargain for the quality and quantity of food you getService is fast and friendly.  The restaurant is clean, with some nice nostalgia on the walls.If you are looking for the quintessential, locally-owned, Chicagoland fast food joint ... go to Sammie's.  You'll be glad you did!!

just ordered this for lunch. i will say the cheese hot dog didn't have that much cheese on it, maybe a thin little layer so i was expecting a little more. if you want this i recommend ordering cheese on the side and doing it yourself. the mac and cheese bites were so good as well as the Italian beef sandwich and chicken tenders!

This place has great Food including the burgers the hot dogs and just about everything they sell. Gyro is off the spit carved fresh The Pita bread is also very fresh Never had a bad meal here the French fries were also excellent good place for a quick meal with the family.

The fries were very good; however, the Italian sausage was small and overpriced compared to Luke's in Mundelein.
