Sal's Pizza Eastside

I've always meant to try their pizza, decided to pull in today and see what they had for slices!It's sort of like Ian's, or maybe Ian's is like them? They had maybe 8 pies ready to choose from, pick what you want and they heat them up in the oven. The slices are large and thin.11am-5pm they have their lunch special which includes two pieces of your choice (excluding stuffed), 2 garlic knots and a fountain soda for $9.50. That's a pretty good deal, especially depending on what slices you pick. The pricing varies when you buy individually but not with the special!A perfect amount of food to share with someone you don't mind sharing a soda with.The employee I spoke to was friendly and patient as I decided what to get.The interior reminds me of college vibes, totally casual with art and written stuff on the walls. I chose to get it to go so didn't really stare too long.The pizza was pretty okay, the crust was good too. Garlic knots, eh, not my favorite but not horrible. Just more bread to eat and for me I don't want a ton of that if I'm eating a pizza that isn't thin crust. I got a side of ranch and it wasn't special, tastes like any store ranch. I'd probably go back again to try some other pizza types. They offer many options for full sized pizzas as well. But that lunch deal was pretty good!

Awesome. Love how cheap and good it is. Shared the lunch special with my bf and it was great. Every time I come here the employees are super energetic and welcoming but also leave you to your space once you have your order. It's a very cool place to eat with all the graffiti on the wall which is fun to look at/read while eating. This is my second time here and it feels better than the first which is rare for a pizza place. The pizza was nice and thin, almost NY style, and well greased haha. The rolls were also very nicely seasoned and filling and it all comes with a drink!

So, I decided to give Sal's another chance after 8 long years, and guess what? The disappointment is still as fresh as ever. The pizza arrived hot this time, but that's where the excitement ended. The lack of flavor and the chewy, tough dough, made me wonder if my dog would struggle to get through it. In the end, over half of the pizza ended up in the trash. I guess some things never change, huh? Sal's, you've managed to maintain your title for me as the worst pizza joint in town. Kudos to you.

Always a good time at Sal's. Pizza is a bit pricey but the slices are big. If you're in need of a quick bite with a buddy this is the place to go. Not the ambiance of a stay a while place but oh well, ample seating. Service is always good with rotating college students eager to do service work. I would recommend, I go there at least once every few months. Highly recommend the bbq chicken pizza!

EDIT: ok I think I figured out the problem here: the pizza was really undercooked. Popped it in the oven to reheat and it came out the way it should have with soft crust with a crispy outside. Raising my rating to a 3.I ordered Sal's because the other two NY style pizza places I frequent were closed for the holiday - I wish I just made a frozen pizza. The cheese, toppings and sauce were fine, but the crust absolutely ruined it. Soft, chewy, doughy, flavorless - I even tried giving the crust to my dogs and they wouldn't even eat it. If crust isn't important to you, go ahead and give it a try; for me, I will stick to my usual pizza joints.

Stepped into a slice of heaven where the crust crackled with each bite, perfectly complementing the gooey, cheesy goodness of the mac and cheese topping. The staff were stars, making the experience shine even brighter. And the decor? Totally one-of-a-kind - it's not just a meal, it's a vibe. Definitely a must-visit! Great spot for lunch they have a lunch deal for 2 slices of pizza, 2 garlic knots, and a soda for only $9.50!

Had Sal's for the first time last week. This is everything I want in a pizza. Large, foldable slices (aka New York Style) with a sweet sauce. We ordered double the sauce which I highly recommend or else it might be a bit dry for some. Good amount of cheese and great pepperoni.We also ordered the mozzarella sticks. Excellent. Little fat logs of breaded cheese fried to perfection.In one meal, Sal's may have become my favorite pizza in the city.

About 45 minutes ago as of writing this review, my girlfriend and I walked into the establishment. We were headed to a costume party, and the guy at the counter took a picture of her without her consent. When I noticed this, the guy went and hid in the kitchen. The guy that took the photo did not appear and a different worker (who clearly was also making fun of my gf) gave us dirty looks while we waited. He gave us our food and I confronted him about what happened. He clearly knew that he was in trouble and failed to give an apology.This was completely unacceptable and we will not be returning to this establishment if idiots like those two guys continue to be employed there.

Nasty delivered pizza. They used American cheese slice. Burned black, missing bacon on meat pizza. Totally dissappointed. Must have ran out of mozzarella cheese. Used slices of some sort, some American cheese. Basically aweful pizza.
