Sakura Sushi and Grill

Pleased by the comfortable interior. The outdoor signage suggested a chain restaurant experience which was not the case once you entered. A bit quiet for a Friday night but that was fine by me. Food was great. Very tasty and severed just right. Service was quick and efficient. Overall, I'll be back to this one.

The food was good. I ordered the chicken teriyaki. First bite was overly salty. There was one carrot. One baby corn. Two tiny pieces of broccoli and about an entire onion. Hmm. Where are the veggies that are usually with the food? Salad was crisp and cold but the ginger dressing was scooped on heavily. The clear soup was good as was the chicken pad Thai. Overall it is pretty good although there are teens in charge in the front of house and they seem to have many jobs to do at the same time, so they are not always as attentive to the tables as they could be. We will give it another try.

Very dissappointed! Ordered 4 hibachi dinners, which cost me over $120... The rice was dry, the meal very mediocre and flavorless, no white sauce, etc. I will never be going there again, even though we go out to hibachi meals a number of times a month.

Very tasty food, great choice and all at a good price point. The service was excellent and staff were attentive and very helpful. The restaurant was very tidy and had a nice chilled atmosphere.

BEST sushi I've had in the Midwest! The atmosphere is very calming and elegant. The menu had so many options and a good variety to satisfy different sushi tastes. I personally adore any type of roll with cream cheese or that's deep fried. If you're the same way, I highly recommend the Tim's Roll and Godzilla Roll! The King Crab Rangoon is also a delicious treat. If you're looking for a great local sushi stop, Sakura is your place! Their dine-in seems to be fully up and running, but they had numerous take-out orders being pushed out while I was there.

Good selection of menu items to pick from. If you're unfamiliar with the items to pick from. Try coming during the lunch special time frame from 11am to 3 pm Monday through Friday. Also if you're on a budget come during this time frame. This location is comparable to a few of the other restaurants in the area so you can't go wrong with what you pick

I am only writing about the sushi side of this restaurant since that was all that I got. I ordered food online and picked it up for lunch. The sushi was packed nice and clean and looked fine. The price for the standard rolls (eel & avocado, spicy tuna, spicy crab) was very affordable at around $7 each. I bought other house rolls as well.This is the reason for my 2 star review:The food was quite fishy and tasted old, as if the fish was expired. I was not expecting the best sushi I've ever had, but this was different. When food is spoiled, it's spoiled. Specifically the tuna and the crab were not good. The taste was bad and there was an odor coming from the sushi. You could tell right away it wasn't good anymore. To serve bad fish at a sushi restaurant is definitely not a good look and doesn't bode well for the future. Although I like to support neighborhood restaurants, I will no longer be coming back to this place. I spent over $70 here and did not have a good experience. I hate paying for food that sucked. I hope the owners see this and make a change for the better. PS. Stomach is starting to hurt now...

Value for price is the ringing bell here. The sushi itself is creative and competitive, the service is excellent and the ambiance is relaxed and inviting. I recommend everyone try this place.
