Small town tavern with a sports bat feel. Locals in the bar at lunch time talking about the Packer's game and local politics. Owner is sitting at the bar and bartender is also the waitress for floor seating. Nice place with low and high tables and and partial wrap around bar. I ordered the Philly Cheese sandwich with chicken and broccoli cheddar bites. The Philly Cheese come with cuber chicken breast, peppers, onions, and cheese served on a toasted hoagie roll. Not a huge portion - but more than enough. The broccoli cheddar bites are breaded and deep fried and taste amazing. I have really developed a taste for these delicacies. Overall a pleasant experience. The staff is not overly attentive but they are pleasant. If you want someone yo talk your ear off ... this is not the place. If you want to sit and eat in peace ... great place. If you sit at the bar - they will talk with you more. I do recommend this place. I hear the fish fry on Friday is great. May have to swing by and check this out.

Went here because, well, there aren't a lot of options in Denmark (I've been to Whipp's, and will try Suster's soon...) Glad we did. It's a pretty typical Wisconsin bar and restaurant, verging on sports bar. The game was on, people were yelling, the music was loud. Hey, it was Friday night. So what if it was Good Friday? (They were closed on Easter, though.) The food was amazing. My brother had steak and lobster, both of which were darn good. I had a combo with fried perch, cod, shrimp, and frog legs. The perch was obviously fresh, and I'm pretty sure the frog legs were too. Both were awesome. The cod and shrimp were just good. Came with homemade tartar sauce, homemade potato salad and cole slaw, etc. Oh, and Baumeister root beer on tap. Only minor letdown was the pepperjack curds. Though served with a good (homemade?) dipping sauce, they were just average.Service was friendly. Seems like half the town was there, either working or drinking. Just as we were wondering what they had for dessert, one of the guys came around with free plates of very good brownies. The next day we had a family gathering, so ordered some stuff to go from here. The orders were all right, everything was good, and there weren't any leftovers. I don't think I could keep up with the Wisconsin diet for long, but for short bursts it's great.

Don't bother stopping in this joint. Cold chili, grilled sandwich was not even browned, and the bartender was way more concerned with talking to her friends about how drunk she got than serving any of the guests. All the while, the owner is sitting at the bar watching this occur. Only good comment was the Bloody Mary was decent.

If you are looking for a hole-in-the-wall bar & grill that is clean, friendly, and a lot of small town feel, go! Went there twice - once for the Friday night perch - amazing! love the potato options and the perch was well breaded and fresh tasting. Other time hung out and had some burgers and fries - outstanding! Don't miss this place!
