First... these are the same giant mozzarella sticks from Alphonso's The Original in West Allis (same owner). This is a collaboration he did with a friend who runs the Mac-n-cheese portion of the business.I can only speak to the Lightning Rod experience - I ordered the Hot Rod (spicy mozz stick) and it had a noticeable difference for being spicier than the original. It's a lot of cheese... while I 'can' finish it in one sitting, I'm not sure it 'should' be done in one. Haha. My friend took half of hers home. The decor of their vendor space is filled with nostalgia, plenty to look at while you wait for your order. If you haven't had a footlong mozzarella stick yet, then you should try this... at least onc

You haven't lived until you have one of their giant mozzarella sticks the Lighting Rod. It's a full pound of mozzarella.** These are the original Alphonso's sticks but at the 3rd Street Public Market. They are huge and I can't imagine finishing one alone. Makk Daddy five cheese macaroni and cheese is good but the BBQ Pork Makk is amazing.Place your order and the counter and they text you when your order is ready so you can grab your seat and any other goodies you might need from around the market. If cheese is your first love this is the place for you. And a great place to take an out of town guest for something they aren't likely to see anywhere else.

Rod N Makk is located in 3rd st Market Hall. I saw the footlong mozzarella stick on the internet and had to try it! Ordering is easy- you can wait in line or scan a QR code and order, then get a text when it's come back to pick up your food. This is what I did, as the market hall has a lot to explore! The "lightning rod" is a huge mozzarella stick, and jt comes with marinara sauce. It tastes like a mozzarella stick, which is always something that's tasty, but besides its size, it wasn't very notable. I shared with a couple friends- we sliced it into smaller pieces to eat it and the cheese-pulls we got were amazing!!

Visited the 3rd Street Market Hall on a Friday afternoon - I had already decided I was getting this Mac and cheese before I arrived! I got the chicken bacon ranch Mac, and it was excellent. I meannn, look at the photo! My phone had to eat first. My only real complaint was the portion size seemed small for $16, but inflation is real.My friend got the jalapeño popper Mac and loved it as well. Cute decor, friendly workers. Would def go back and already recommended it to friends!
