It's hard to believe that this is the first review of Heather's. This is a little gem in the Middle of Nowhere. Sure, the locals will tell you that Rockdale was almost the Capitol of Wisconsin...but it's located in a tiny little village just outside of Cambridge. One of the few little rural watering holes I've ever experienced that embraces 'city-folk' with open arms. Not one of those bars you walk into, conversations stop, and everyone turns to look at you. That said, it is a bar of local farmers, laborers and folks from the area. But the classic mid-western friendliness is alive and well at Heather's. Perhaps because is is so close to Cambridge, which has a tremendous amount of tourism in the summer, or perhaps because of the owner, Heather, whom I've never heard a disparaging word out of her mouth for as long as I've known her. She greets everyone with a smile, a sincere 'hello', and follows it up with a stiff drink and a massive amount of food if you're hungry. The food is tasty, but if you're watching your weight (or your arteries) you've come to the wrong place. Her Rockdale burger should probably be outlawed in most states. Delicious, but roughly a ton of ground beef on a bun with all the fixins' and enough fries to put most people into cardiac arrest before you can say "Uff-Da". For most normal people, it's enough food to feed an entire family for a day or so. She also serves up some wonderful specials. My favorite were her gyros. You'd never expect an amazing gyro to come out of a little, rural bar...but she's perfected the art. Certainly worth trying. The staff that surrounds Heather is just as friendly and accommodating as Heather. Drinks are served up fast, strong and with a smile. While largely a 'beer bar', they actually have a fairly good selection of liquors.Frequent live music (ranging from bluegrass to 'Harley Rock' to top 40 DJs), incredibly cheap drinks and food, and...when I was last there...WiFi (just in case you like to drink and surf like I do). The view off the back patio is stunning, and there is ALWAYS something going on.This is really one of these little rural dive bars that is a dying breed. Walk in the door, and you're an equal. If you're friendly, the patrons are friendly. If you're a pompous ass, you'll get confronted. So, if you're in the area, want to hang out with some down-to-earth people (who happen to wear cammo baseball caps, just finished milking cows, and will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about football, deer hunting and fishing), then stop on by. Well worth the trip to the Middle of Nowhere.

Only hung good about this place is the service. Ordered two different tap beers....both flat. Soggy onion rings and soggy bacon. Will not be returning to this dive.

Heather's bar may be a little out of the way, unless you golf on Wednesday evenings with the guys for $5.00 golf night! It resides in Rockdale (don't blink) just outside of Cambridge Wisconsin. It's a great place to go for a beer or a burger. They have many specials including one of our favorites,... Gyros! Come to Heather's and feel that warm county welcome!Laura S. BakerReady? This place is solid.Although I must admit, I'm partial to places where you can eat free peanuts and then just toss them on the floor like you don't give a f***. And it's totally cool! Now if you're an uppity hipster-city dweller, you won't like the beer selection. While you can get the Wisconsin standard-issue Spotted Cow, there isn't much of a selection beyond the typical Bud Lights, Coors, etc.... But what makes this place is the awesome menu. You can't go wrong with any of the burger selections. You just can't. I've also had the gyros, which are a Wednesday special. They turned out a little dry, but otherwise tasty and impressive. They have a huge beer garden too! It's a gem in the middle of nowhere. Glad I stopped by.

This was the worst meal we have ever had! Took forever. The "home made pizza" was on a cardboard serving plate. With the ingredient label on bottom! Frozen store bought pizza!Worst 50.00 I've ever spent!!!Don't waste your time

From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. We ordered food and it came out fast, hot and delicious. Prices are amazing. They also have a big deck with covered spots for shade. Will definitely be back!

I moved near here about 1.5yrs ago... There are new owners as of mid to late 2022. They are married couple and they are all over everything handling business, lol. Point is all these reviews are from before them. The place is clean and they rearranged and the pool table is now usable. I have zero complaints and have always received excellent service. I cannot speak about the food as I never eat at any bar but I can say the place is well run.

We stopped here with some friends who have been here before, and said it was a great bar. We walk in. I ask the bartender what type of seltzers do they have. Her response,"do you have legs? Walk over, and check for yourself. I've been having a bad day already." Fine, whatever, I checked it out. Placed our order. After a little bit, decided to give her another chance. We were looking at the menu to decide some appetizers. Asked about a couple items, "nope. We're out of those." Then I asked about another, and what it actually was. Her response, "yes we have those. You have the menu, read the description yourself." I looked at my friends, and said "we're out of here."I don't care how bad of day you're having, you don't treat your customers with disrespect from the get go. She treated the regulars just fine.

Not good service. Anna was busy with the guys and didn't have my drink needs in her awareness. Yep, cute, yep, owners daughter, but needs to take care of all of the customers. Just saying for a friend.....

I was planning a pizza party at a nearby park for a child's birthday on a Friday and I was pleasantly surprised when I called the day before and the owner offered to make us homemade pizzas even though it's the Monday special. She provided everything she knew we would need from the Parmesan cheese to the small plates to individual cups for serving the marinara to each child to cutting the breadsticks in half. She went the extra mile and served it with a smile! The bar also has a gorgeous view of the river and trees in the back and it was clean and well kept. And the homemade pizza was absolutely delicious!
