My favorite bakery!! I've literally dreamt of these donuts on multiple occasions. The custard Bismarck the chocolate donuts....smiley face cookies...we'd be here all day if I named every item that I love. This family-owned bakery has been a staple in McHenry for decades. They accommodate special orders, as well.I live in Chicago and make my family bring me these donuts whenever they come to visit.

I have been trying to find the best donut in the area and so many people have said good things about this place so i decided to give it a try but I was a bit disappointed. I came on Wednesday where they had a special for $1.60 eclairs so I got an eclair, as well as the custard filled Bismarck and glazed donut. The eclair was so good! Completely filled with a creamy delicious custard. Definitely come and try their eclairs!! The donuts, however are where I was disappointed. They are dense and chewy and just not pleasant to eat. Since the Bismarck was filled with custard (a good amount too) it wasn't as bad but don't get the regular glazed donut if you like a fluffy donut like me. I think this place is overhyped, at least for donuts. May be back for the eclairs though

Staff is super friendly. I ordered my Pazcki and pick up was easy. Taste good and will try other stuff later

We have been going to Riverside bakery for nearly 40 years. We realize the prices had to go up because of food prices going up but we still buy a dozen donuts whenever we're in Mchenry. If you want something so delicious get yourself a chocolate doughnut they are the best. The owner is very nice.

I contacted Riverside Bakery because I was working in Crystal Lake and I needed a cake for my nephews birthday party. It was the last of my choices because of distance. I'm so glad I called because it was one of the best cakes I ever had! The cake was light and moist, and the frosting was fluffy and not too sweet. They were so accommodating they removed decorations from an existing cake and wrote what I needed at no charge. No trace of the previous decorations could be detected. I am so happy I found Riverside but so sad I live too far away to go regularly

Everything is good, just wish they accepted credit cards, especially for larger orders.
