The meats are a quality product. Pork, chicken, beef. I buy all my meat fresh not frozen and makes a huge taste difference I've been going to Rivers Edge for the last 10 years since moving to Fort Atkinson. Chen know out the reasonable prices on baked goods. My only complaint has been during COVID-19. A butcher that works there refuses to wear his mask as anything but a chin strap and he touches pork, poultry without wearing gloves or washing his hands when he comes out to help when counter service gets backed up. I ask him to wash and use gloves. This is a recent development. Not used to seeing this butcher. Needs to be corrected.

My kiddo and I wondered in here last week. Being new to Jefferson I wasn't sure what to expect. Places like this in San Diego are super expensive. I was pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable prices. The lady who helped me find what I was looking for was very nice. They had a great selection of just about everything. Instead of Walmart, I will come here for the meats and fruit. We did try the malt balls, not ashamed to say I had to fight my kids for them. They were delicious! Really excited to try everything they have!

River's Edge is a treasure in this community. They have the best quality and offer products that are made locally. Their service is excellent. Every time I've visited, they have been helpful and gone above and beyond to be accommodating.

When we first relocated to Jefferson I admit that I avoided Rivers Edge a bit simply because I assumed they'd be far too expensive for us - as much as I do strive to support local businesses - sometimes, things can be out of reach financially. I was so very very wrong! This is an excellent and realistically priced market. They have excellent and competitively priced meats - including a vast deli meat and cheese selection. Wonderful frozen meats, house made (I think!) heat and serve items in the freezers. We love ground lamb and theirs is excellent - it has the perfectly gamey and lamby taste that I've been missing desperately. It's delicious and well priced. The last few years I've only managed to find incredibly mild and boring tasting lamb. Great bread selection, good amount of produce - including local produce, yay! I picked up some delicious locally grown asparagus for $2.99/lb - it's beautiful. It should also be known that they carry an array of unique frozen seafoods, dairy, eggs, and other pantry staples. This is far from just a meat market. I find myself heading here first now. Great shop! Clean, friendly and fresh.

I bought a 1/4 beef from the Jefferson County fair this year and had it processed at River's Edge. I made my order simple: T-bones, porterhouse, ribeyes, chuck roast, and the rest in hamburger. At pickup, I got 60lb in hamburger and 45lb of steaks and roast. 105lb from a 1200lb steer? I left a message and went in the next day. The manager told me she knew what my question was and that there had been mistake ...that she wasn't there the day it was processed. They had given me only a 1/4 of the all the hamburger made from the whole cow though my portion of hamburger should have been more since I wanted very little otherwise. At that point, she had more burger to give me if I was ok with a mix of 1lb and 1.5lb packages. Sure-I thought that would be fine. She brought out a box with burger thrown in it. I got outside and organized the box that had all of 1.5lb packs...it was roughly 40lb worth. So then I had 145lb total out of what I was expecting to be more like 180lb. On top of that my hamburger isn't the quality that it should be as all the other parts of my 1/4 were not ground into my portion of hamburger. The lady offered me $50 back or an additional 16lb of their burger. I took the burger. At 161lb, I'm feeling a little better, but the quality of my meat still isn't where it should be. Three other people that got 1/4's with me were shorted and after the error with mine, Rivers Edge did not automatically attempt to correct the other orders though I had spoken to them and they were aware before the other people picked up . One person recieved 105lb at first like me and checked after I mentioned they might want to look into it. Additionally, said person had products marked for resale with River's Edge price stickers in their order! The other two received135b. on their first pick up. We all got $40 back in cash at the end. The brother of the steer we bought(raised in exact same environment and manner) that weighed 10 lbs less was processed elsewhere and a half was picked up at 430lb. Doing the math puts that at ~ 215 lbs/quarter. Please weigh your meat and have an idea of approximately how much you should be recieving! The packaging varied among the orders and even same cuts had different packaging. I have finished this experience feeling cheated and frustrated that we had to work so hard to make it right, and even then, we all wonder what meat we really ended up with.

Rivers Edge provides the essential items we need to put on an annual picnic of over 500 people. They do a wonderful job estimating the amount of food needed and they go above and beyond dropping items off at different times in the day to ensure that each type of food (meats, cheeses, fruit, etc.) are served at the appropriate temperatures. Dani is great to work with and we plan to continue using them for our catering needs.

I have been trusting River's Edge Meat Market for all of my venison processing needs for approximately the last six years. Unfortunately over the course of the last two-three years I have seen a drastic decline in their ability to provide quality butchering and a trusted product. When I have my deer processed, my only request is to have the tenderloin and back straps packaged, roasts packaged, and the remaining meat put in to hamburger... nothing fancy. As of recently, I've thrown away approximately 1/3 of every roast every time I attempted to use one due to an overabundance of fat and gristle. I have NO IDEA where they decided to pull these "roasts" from on the animal. Every deer I have PERSONALLY processed revealed a minimal amount of fat or gristle anywhere near the shoulder or rump roasts. When I called and spoke to someone at River's Edge I was informed they were only de-boning deer this year, so the incompetent butchering problem would no longer be an issue. So, let me get this straight... instead of "fixing" the problem by hiring competent butchers, you simply provide less of a service to the customer for close to the same cost?? Well played, River's Edge... well played. I will no longer be utilizing your shop for any of my venison processing needs.

Very disappointed!!! I ordered their meat bundles one each of the beef, pork, and variety. I excepted to get fresh meat that they processed and butchered. What I got was products that come from the local grocery store. I received a Hill shire Ham, commercial hot dogs, and a bag Value Time chicken breasts( which is a generic brand). I did call them, and they offered me no help, or were not apologetic for my misunderstanding that I thought I would be receiving fresh food. Also, when I ordered my bundles on the phone ahead of time, I had asked how it was packaged, the lady told me me in one pound packages. The bacon I got was a 5 lb. box of bacon all frozen together. Who eats 5 lbs. of bacon at a time? That goes back to I had asked how everything was packaged. My In-laws were with us also, and bought a variety bundle as well. They also are very disappointed, and feel ripped off. We will not be back, I can go to my own local grocery store and buy that quality of food.
