I'm not sure why the rating is so low but it was not bad. It was good, basic diner food with a nice view out the window of the park across the street. We went at 3 pm midweek and found they serve breakfast all day. It wasn't fantastic, but it was as good as I might expect from a Midwest "family" restaurant. It was very clean, the waitress was very friendly, it was bright and updated. The food came fast. I had eggs over easy, dry English muffin (they don't have homemade biscuits),bacon, and "American" potatoes (sliced, fried). Hubby had Wisconsin cheese omelet, hash browns, pancake,Everything arrived exactly as ordered (even the English muffin unbuttered!) The eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon partly crisp/chewy, English muffin was better than most and did come dry and the potatoes were more greasy than I'd hoped but nicely crisped and still soft-about like my husband's hash browns- but I think better. (I ate every last piece). Hubby's omelette was nicely cooked with cheese melted- but boring! Pancake was good and hash browns were nicely crisped and about what you'd expect from a family restaurant. Up to pay at register, hubby spied desert case and waitress said the peanut butter/cheesecake pie on chocolate graham crust was "really good"!!! We sat back down and and she brought it quickly with two forks:) It probably is delicious to many people, guessing it is a mixture of cool whip and cream cheese and Jif, topped with box pudding and chocolate syrup on graham cracker mix crust, but this isn't my kind of thing. Would I go again. Sure. Am I excited to go again? Not really. But it met my expectations, and I wasn't sorry we went.I'm giving 4 stars because for what it was, it was fine. While not fun, spunky, or delicious, nothing was bad, grumpy, dirty, off-tasting, poorly cooked, etc. Plus, it needs a little boost.

Had lunch with my mom at River Park today and we both pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food was. We shared a Ruben sandwich and also had the appetizer sampler plate. The Ruben had good quality meat and the bread was soft. The appetizer plate was good, just your run of the mill stuff (Mozzarella sticks, onion rings etc) but they were hot and tasted good. I also had a cup of soup which was the cheese broccoli and it also tasted good. It's a smaller restaurant that definitely has the Wisconsin family restaurant feel. Service was good and overall I would definitely come dine here again.

We stopped in for brunch after church. The parking lot was completely full which is always a great sign.we did get acknowledged and seated right away. Coffee was delicious and my cup was always refilled promptly. I picked something from the lunch menu. A Monte Cristo and asked them to add an over medium egg... it was outstanding. So remember that next time. The owner I am guessing asked me about my order and said he never thought of that but it was a great idea. Another member order the swedish pancakes that came with no filling. The server quickly apologized and took it back to the kitchen to correct. It was supposed come with strawberries. The third order was a veggie and egg wrap. There was nothing left on the plate so it must have been worth every bite. Give this place a try, we enjoyed the experience.

Since reopening, the service is abysmal. We tried to make it our go-to place but today was the last straw. We watched too many people come in, get waited on or others - like us - go unseen. Done with this place. I did tell someone the service needs improvement.

The first time we tried this place which is called River Café now with new owners, we had a group of four people and got a table as our request and the food was good. As a couple, we have tried this place twice now and left both times as they claim "they don't have a table per our request" but empty tables present. The "hostess" which was the same one both times gave us a rude disgusted like sigh while telling us there is no tables. Since there is no place to go to wait for a table we walked out. Third time, wont be a charm as we are done with this place and the horrible service. We went to the Falls Café (competitor) and had a great table along with service. If they keep this up they wont be in town long.

The wife and I eat here every weekend. I like the skillet and the omelettes. She get the hot turkey or deuces wild. Stay with common ideas and the foods good. Get the gyro or something nobody orders regularly and best of luck. The service is very hit or miss. There on lady with curly hair, love her. The rest are garbage. This is also an old person place....
