Riley's is the liquor store to be at downtown. There's a wide variety of beer, liquor, and wine. Prices are reasonable. The blowout beer section is always a worthwhile glance ($10 and under). The cashiers are always flying through customers, especially on weekend nights and game days. I've never left Riley's empty handed and neither should you!

It was a flashback when I entered and found the owner standing in the same spot that she used to stand when I was going to college in the 1990s. Some things stay the same (her watching eye) while other things have not (my hairline, my BMI, and the square footage of Rileys) Yes, it is a campus liquor store but their selection is incredible. And it's not just your bottom feeder bottles of booze-they bring in some higher end liquors as well. I was really impressed when they were able to order a vodka my novia and I had when we were in Ibiza-Beluga Gold. They were able to special order it, I received it in a week, and they didn't rake me over the coals from a cost perspective. I was impressed and would stop in just to secure those bottle that you can't get at your run of the mill liquor store.

Riley's is my choice of Madison-based liquor stores. There's nothing wrong with others, and I patronize several, but RIley's is hard to beat. Aside from their incredible selection, they bring in a lot of private barrels of whiskey that you're unable to get anywhere else. The prices are very fair, not the cheapest in town, not the most expensive. The staff is very friendly. One of the great things about Riley's is their allocated lottery system. You don't have to be "in the know" to get hard-to-find whiskeys. You sign up on their email list, they email you when an allocated item is in stock, and you choose if you're interested or not. If you're interested, you're entered into a draw, and if you win, you get to buy it. This is a much more fair deal than other stores, where I've simply been told, "We have some long-time customers who will get that, you won't."Located a few blocks from the UW, this is a must-visit store. Don't forget what many do - there's an upstairs with a lot more than what's on the main floor. Cheers!

Hands down the best place in Madison to buy white claws. A wide selection of beer and hard seltzer makes Riley's a go to heading into the weekend. Convenient location equipped with a parking lot

Pros: Huge variety of wine and liquor, from the cheaper ones to the super expensive ones. Whenever I need to look for a rare bottle of wine I come in here because most likely they have it in stockCons: It is a bit over priced. And I wish they rank the wine and have a little bit of review of each wine so whenever I want to explore a new bottle, I can easily pick one from the wine review / ranking

This place is incredible. I had some time to kill before a dinner date and decided to stop in. They have a huge selection of liquor, particularly wines. What most impressed me was the number of 90+ point wines at really affordable prices. I bought a Syrah, a Petite Syrah, and a Rose. Each wine was around the $10 price point, and 2 or all 3 of them (I can't remember) were 90+ point wines. In addition to a great selection of wine, I appreciate that they have their own parking lot (although it is small) and that the staff are really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend checking out Riley's Wines of the World!

What is this magical place?????There are two levels of booze here. Everything is organized very well. There was a significant variety of every kind of beverage you would want to purchase (maybe lacking a touch in the cider department, but I can get past that easily). Not only is the sheer amount of alcohol in the store astounding, but the prices are also very reasonable. Cashiers were nice. A+ all around.I have never been the biggest fan of Madison, but Riley's makes a case for the area.

Great selection with a very down-to-earth staff ready and willing to help out.I was bouncing through Wisconsin on my way to the Indy 500, and knew that few people were familiar with Spotted Cow beer, but that it would be warmly appreciated. Riley's most assuredly didn't fail me in this task, and the fully-stocked back wall of fridges has just about any brew you could ever want. Fast check-out and easy parking rounded out a great experience. Hope to have an excuse to come back here soon, if only for the Spotted Cow.

Very poor service before I could even get in there. I parked my car in their completely empty parking lot. My plan was to sprint down to Cheba Hut to pick up a takeout order and then swing back through Riley's to pick up a lot of beer for a bunch of friends who are helping me move today. Some employee ran out of the store and literally chased me out of the lot before I could even explain my plan. I'm not into being treated like I'm doing something wrong. If the guy had taken a second to ask me about my plan instead of running out of the store yelling, "Yo, you gotta move your car," then he might have been pleased to find that he was about to make a significant sale. Instead, he protected his empty parking lot at 2.30 in the afternoon and ensured that I will never go near that place again. I took my business elsewhere and will continue to do so.
