Extremely great empanadillias. Definitely a great place to go when you only got $10 to spend. My girlfriend and I come here and order pickup all the time. We are never unhappy with service or our food. Truly no complaints. The location is on a decently busy road. Inside is nice and small very comfy to wait a few moments. The Frappes are nummy yummy. Highly recommend

Is the perfect meal possible? Because this was the perfect meal! I love Rican Mex Frappes & Grill and I'll definitely be back! Today I had a steak jibarito and Puerto Rican rice. OMG. OMG. OMgeeeeeeeee! Everything was so good! The jibarito is a sandwich made without bread but instead uses flattened and fried green plantains to hold all of the delicious fillings. I worried that the plantain could be greasy but it wasn't at all. It had a perfect thickness and was a bit crispy too. And the flavor was really lovely! The inside of the sandwich had steak, avocado, tomato, mayo ketchup and lettuce. You have a choice between steak, pork or chicken. I can't wait to get this again! I'm gluten intolerant and this is a tasty and authentic bread free sandwich option. The Puerto Rican rice here, arroz con gandules, was also top notch. Flavorful, herbaceous and moist. Next time I need to get dessert too! Also, the serving sizes here are generous. I've got half of my meal left and it'll tomorrow's lunch!

Great place to eat authentic Puertoriquen food. Only problem they are only open Monday through Friday. Which is sad if you need a delicious Puertoriquen meal on a weekend.

I know Mexican food is very popular in Milwaukee but Puerto Rican food on the other hand is few and far between for some reason so I decided to stop by for lunch today. The place is basically a store front with no seating so it's all take out. I would try the Triplets sandwich because it's popular in Puerto Rico and I wanted a something authentic as my first taste. The place had a steady stream of people leaving with food so it must be pretty decent.OMG when when I opened the box I was surprised to see that it was a small load of bread cut in half sandwich so it's big and it came with frys.I liked the limp seasoned frys because they reminded me of greasy burger joint fry.The bread was really fresh with a nice chewy thin crust and a soft center. The Tripleta sandwich is pork, steak, chicken, lettuce, tomato, potato sticks, avocado, mayo ketchup and Munster cheese. This was a really good sandwich and the mayo ketchup worked so well and I thought that this is the Puerto Rican version of a torta only on a loaf of bread. The sandwich worked so with all the ingredients and the avocado just takes it over the top and just makes the sandwich.

In terms of Puerto Rican food, this is the best that I've had in the area. The mofongo is great, highly recommend ordering some. I will be getting more soon.

If you want homemade, tasty, hot Puerto Rican food at a great price point, look no further. We got a mofongo with garlic shrimp and a shrimp/cheese empanada to go. Didn't take pictures because honestly, we ate them way too fast. The empanadas were crispy and freshly made - they were still piping hot when we picked them up. That's all you gotta know and you gotta get one to go with your meal! The mofongo - ooooooh man, I think mofongo is such an underrated treasure, along with most of Puerto Rican food. It is heavy in the stomach, but the savoriness hits you so good when you are looking for a hearty meal. The portion they give you ~could~ last you two meals, but you'll definitely inhale it in one if you're hungry. The shrimp were good, too, and they weren't overcooked, though I think I should definitely try the pernil or the carne frita next time.I think it's easy to pass by RicanMex on Oklahoma going to and from St. Luke's hospital, but I think it's one of the best food options in the area - I hope more people also get in on the secret of the deliciousness that RicanMex has to offer!
