Red & White Winebar

Red & White Winebar is a self-serve wine bar in Waunakee. They have red and white wines (hence the name) in the self-serve machine. To get your wine, you go to the bar, get a special card, and stick it in the machine. Then, you decide if you want a taste, half pour, or full pour. You click the button, put your glass under machine, and then enjoy the wine! Its super easy because it keeps track of amount you owe and you can pay it all at the end. There are little signs with descriptions and backstories on each wine in the machine. It's a great way to try a bunch of different wines at your own pace. It's really nice to be able to go straight to machine and get the wine whenever you're ready for it! They always have a great selection of wines to choose from as well. If you're not a wine drinker, they also serve whiskey, bottles or cans of beer, and N/A options. For food, they serve a variety of charcuterie boards and pizzas. I've never eaten any of the food there but it always looks delicious!The vibe inside is really nice and the space is really clean. For seating, you can sit downstairs, in the upstairs loft, or outside on their spacious patio. All options are great but I definitely prefer the patio in the summer! The service is always wonderful as well! The workers are knowledgeable and really friendly. Last time I was there, I met the owners, Mike and Kari. They were really friendly and told my husband and I the story of how Red & White began. They were lovely!My husband and I are already regulars so we'll continue to go back. Just what you need. A chance to chat and chill with good friends and great wines. Just opened by two locals, Mike and Kari's Red & White Wine Bar creates a place you can kick back, relax and sample multiple wines all in one night. Want to try a new wine? Start with a 2 oz pour. Love it? Go back and grab yourself a full 6 oz. Otherwise check out your options at the self service wine station and give something else a go. We sat outside for drinks and found a table with a heater which was very helpful because it was cold! I sampled 5-6 different wines and most were very good. Also tried their cheese board, it was delicious. Nice blend of cheeses, candies nuts and chocolate. The gluten free crackers weren't my favorite but overall it was tasty. My bill was around $35, my friend's tabs were considerably higher, but they admitted they didn't look very carefully at the prices when getting their pours.

Very comfortable wine bar with a decent selection of wine and a few local whiskeys. This a a welcome establishment to Waunakee. 5 years ago there was nothing other than a small town bar scene in Waunakee and even that was modest and struggling. We were there on a Saturday evening and the place filled up quickly. There was also live music. The acoustics are such that it's good for either conversation or music.

Great spot with great people. Mike and Kari are wonderful hosts and not wine snobs. They make everyone feel welcome. Also a terrific location for private parties with a nice separate space upstairs.

The wine and ambiance and great whether you sit indoors or outdoors. The food is nothing special, but no one is going there for the food.

Beautiful setting, amazing wine and cheese, owners are the sweetest and their employees make you feel like family there! Highly recommend checking out this Winebar with so much to offer!

We have been extremely pleased with the addition of Red and White Wine Bar to the community of Waunakee. I love wine and am very pleased with the choices they offer. What I love the most is the price differential. So if I want a more luxury pour I can get that and then if I feel like spending less I can do that as well. My husband is not a wine person but with the Bourbon options he is very happy. We love the atmosphere, we can sit at the bar or grab a more intimate table. The upstairs seating options give the place more options for larger groups of people too. With the addition of occasional musicians, we will be going back often!! We highly recommend visiting this business!!

I stopped in to visit this place and do a wine tasting with a friend. There was two workers there , one of which explained that they take your card and you pretty much run a tab as you go. The wines are all dry so I wasn't interested in staying and doing a tasting. I'm a sweet wine gal and he tried to tell me that sweet wine is more of a Spring and Summer thing. Well I don't need a certain season to tell me what kind of wine I like to to drink. My taste buds like sweet red wine and will have nothing to do with dry wine. They do have some cheese boards if you want a snack. I was a little more hungry so we realized this place had nothing for us. Was a clean quiet place as they have just opened and are new in town. If they want more business they should add more variety to appeal to more people. Good luck to them on their new business but this sweet wine gal will not be going back.
