Purple Door Ice Cream

After being told to come try this place on many visits, I finally got the chance to stop in.I liked the variety of flavors, but was told to try the purple ice cream. It was very similar to Blue Moon, which is my fave.The space in the Public Market is a bit small, but they still carry a variety of flavors. Service was a little slow, but we had a big group too.

The best stall in the whole marketplace, delicious flavors, choice of cones or cup, better service than the others as well. A little short staffed, usually only one young lady who sometimes closes up early, or has to go away to take a break without relief. There are a couple of stools, and on a nice day you can take your ice cream outside. On live music evenings, head upstairs and listen to some jazz.

Yumm!! Big fan of all the amazing flavors here, especially the rotating dairy free ones!! They always have a least one dairy free option and I love that for the lactose intolerant and dairy averse. They of course have dairy ice cream and house made hot fudge and caramel, which I also partake in.Delicious cones, split scoops, unicorn bowls, sprinkles, and more! They also have a upright cooler of pints off to the right so you can grab your favorite to go, including flavors not currently "on scoop"? lol.

Within the Mequon Public Market, it's nice to have a place that sells a dessert. You have about 16 different flavors to pick from and each one has a unique flavor. Service is okay at best. This unique ice cream establishment is on the expensive side for those who are on a budget

Stopped in at the Public Market and was pleasantly surprised to see Purple Door as there's been so much talk about it at work.Sampled the lemon - and OH MY GOODNESS it was amazing and even tasted like gelato on steroids. Had to get the signature Purple which was very good. All flavors I tried were creamy/fluffy and very flavorful. Price is a little steep. 2 small cups nearly $9! yikes definitely not something I'd do too often, but it was a nice treat.

On a lunch date, we found this ice cream shop inside the Mequon public market and it is now my FAVORITE! When the ice cream was so good you want to eat it in the winter! The customer service was great, they allow me try the ice cream before I decided. I didn't have to try much because I was hooked on the first one. Mountaintop cold brew blackberry chip is a must try! Super delicious! The chocolate chip and real black berry compliment each other well. The single scoop was a lot! Will definitely come back for more! Hoping the flavor is not seasonal or else I might need to buy a bucket!

After dinner at the Mequon Public Market, it seemed that a dish of ice cream would be the perfect way to please the palate after a flavorful meal. When you opt to dine at the market, you won't even have to go very far for such a delight.The Purple Door offers the same great ice cream you've had before but without having to drive to Walker's Point! (Great for those of us who live in the next county!)The menu rotates so you never know what you might find, but tonight the choice was obvious from a selection of tempting flavors. Raspberry Chocolate!After a hot day, you might expect a long line of hot folks waiting for a tasty treat. We did, and it was. The line moved fairly quickly but more importantly, the treat at the end was worth the wait.

As I sat eating my malted chocolate chocolate chunk ice cream cone (which is my favorite flavor and is flippin' delicious), I couldn't help but notice how hard that must be to have to keep scraping really firm ice cream over and over again for hours. Props to the young kids and their not-yet-arthritic wrists and arms for spending all day pulling rich, velvety iced dairy treasures out of those buckets! I totally get why they've got a tip jar!While I used to hit up Walkers Point more regularly when I lived closer to the city, I appreciate even more that we have a Mequon location. Custard is nice and all, unnamed Wisconsin chain by the freeway, but sometimes legit ice cream that's made fresh is so much more appealing.Keep it coming! Love seeing local businesses succeed!

Found this store in Google Maps. Called the store to verify hours and the voice mail said 9pm. Showed up at 8:30 pm and the girl said she already closed up, while she was sitting behind the counter, gossiping with her friend on speaker phone. She said it's wrong. I mentioned someone might want to fix it and she said they cut their hours because it's slow I asked if I could buy a pint from the freezer and she said she was closed - and turned around and resumed her conversation. Poor service. Friends told me to try the store in Milwaukee for good customer service. A manager or owner needs to know what is going on there.

Hours of operation are extremely inconsistent, they open and close whenever they feel like it and not what it says on the door or on their voicemail message. We have been at the Mequon location several times. Today there was a sign saying closed Jan 24th-31st. Last week, we went there to use a Public Market gift certificate that expires in February and were told they do not accept them even though it has the name as a participant on the back of it!!! We then purchased ice cream and I asked for a bowl, the girl said there would be a charge for it! There was a charge for the cone on our receipt so apparently you only get the "ice cream scoop" with nothing to put it in?! They will also tell you they don't take cash when you go to pay. I've never seen so many issues at a ice cream shoppe. We won't be back. They should probably close this location if they can't handle running the business properly.
