Headed back to Chicagoland after an awesome stay in WI and we thought, let's go to a local butcher & try some of their specialties.We purchased Sirloin Steaks, 3 different types of awesome innovative sausages and chatted with the owner who was passionate and managed an adept friendly team. Everything that we purchased was top quality and we look forward to purchasing there again the next time we swing by that way. I liked that they have some clever choices, like unique ingredients for signature entrees. The prices were very fair for the quality of the meat. I did not notice Prime meats but maybe that is on occasion or special order. Nonetheless our steaks and sausages were terrific.Bravo and we look forward to going back there again soon!

This review is a little delayed, but I just came across my notes. My fiancé and I taste-tested food several months ago from Pinnon's to see if we wanted them to cater our wedding. We ended up going with another vendor, but I did want to leave a review.First, Katie was very nice and helpful via phone and in person. The store itself, however, is kind of gross. It was dirty and we saw a lot of flies around the food, which is never a good sign. They have a picnic area outside where we ate our food.Here is what we tried.Coleslaw: Some of the best we've ever had. We're pretty picky when it comes to coleslaw, but this fabulous with a perfect mayo-vinegar combo.Cali Medley: Pretty good, a TON of seasoning on the vegetables.Chicken: Awesome flavor and spices.Cheesy potatoes: Another favorite. They were shredded and didn't quite look like what we thought, but great flavor.Green bean casserole: Very plain with little to no flavor. Also undercooked.Lasanga: Just okay. It wasn't that memorable.Italian beef: Pretty heavy but good. Not the best we've ever had.We also brought strip steaks and portabellas home to grill and try. The steaks were pre-seasoned and pretty good. Portabellas were okay.Overall, we really liked about half the food. The main items weren't that great and the inside of the store was dirty, so that is my reasoning for 3 stars.

My husband and I stopped in to the Madison Rd store about a week ago. We had looked up their website and found a good deal we planned on buying one of their boxes. We have had the meat before and know it tastes good. We got there and the price in the store was $20 higher than advertised. After looking it up to make sure we hadn't seen the wrong thing we asked them about it. The man was very rude, told us that they knew the price was wrong and they didn't have the password for the website so there is nothing they can do about it. We asked if they were aware of the problem then why were they not honoring or fixing the price. The man kept cutting my husband off and would not let him speak. Was very rude and obviously did not care that they were promoting false advertising. We walked out and won't be going back.

Totally unique in this day and age of big-box stores. This mom and pop butcher has been in business in the same location for about 80-90 years. The folks at the counter are so friendly and helpful and the prices are AMAZING. I don't live in Illinois but have been to this place three times and I have never seen a better butcher shop elsewhere in this country. Thumbs -up!

After 40+ years in Chicago, I retired and moved back to my hometown. I was delighted to stumble on this small local butcher shop with great quality cuts at super prices. They have custom-cut steaks for me many times. Everything is fresh. The variety is good; all bases are covered. Different specials every week. Very friendly and helpful staff. Stop in; you will not be disappointed!

This place is a great alternative to shopping for your meats than at a grocery store. When bought in bulk the prices per pound drop considerably. With the quality product and helpful staff this shop makes it easy to get in and get out.I usually buy my steaks and ground beef at this location and have yet to purchase other items available. From what I can see there is a vast majority of meat to choose from. The new location along Milwaukee Rd is a nice change from the little hole in the wall they used to be at down the road. Highly recommend this for your future shopping needs for butcher shop related products. As a bonus they offer some processing for your own harvested venison, turkey etc, etc.

Came highly recommended and was a disappointment. Service was friendly, options limited. 1/2" or 1 1/2" porterhouse no option of having some cut. Steaks were OK but nothing special. Prices were good but would rather pay more for better quality and custom cuts. We tried the bacon and it was very good. Overall, more focused on competitive pricing than quality.

The service was very helpful and knowledgeable. Great variety. We bought Italian Sausage which was excellent and also Breakfast Pork Sausage and we thought that was too heavy on the seasoning. Just thought I would share.

Waited way to long only reason I was there I had a gift card don't waste your time go somewhere else......

We have been going to Pinnon for a couple of years. No longer. The service I received today was inexcusable. I waited 10 minutes for beef to be ground and that's fine. In the meantime about 10 customers entered the store. Judging by by their greetings many were members of his church. I was told I would have to wait until all other customers were served before my purchase would be wrapped. Never again.
