It's rare to see Piggly Wiggly's these days unless your out of Milwaukee county...and we'll this is the case for my visit to this Pig location. You get a sense of family owned and warmth where everyone knows one another upon entering. They have a great deli and cheese selection. I personally have purchased from their bakery and liquor department. They had a WI mead that I could not locate at other stores.

Wisconsin: The land of the Pig.The Piggly Wiggly. The Pig...the seller of my most favorite thing. Jolly Good soda.I was in West Bend visiting family who know of my love for the beverage. They live very close to this grocery store and recommended a quick stop before I had to head back out of town again. It was convenient and easy to find what I needed and wanted inside. I got my many cases and cans of the jolly-est, good-iest soda and was on my way in no time! I am a happy camper!

I stopped grocery/everything shopping at Walmart in the spring of this year, 2022, and have been shopping at The Pig in West Bend ever since. It is a little more expensive but I find it's worth it to simply no longer support a Huge Corporate chain that is soulless. I much prefer the hometown feeling I get at Pig. The butchers are really helpful, the deli is great, and I don't see a difference in selection in any of the other departments. I like the fact that they have a lot of younger people who are local kids just trying to pay for their cars, dates, weekend kind of stuff. All seem like good kids. I have a couple of minor complaints on selection, but they're so minor I won't bother posting them. I'm an early bird, like to get my shopping done Saturday a.m., so, for the most part that's when I go. I don't know the Blonde woman's name because I've never taken the time to look at her nametag, but she's pretty much a staple there on Saturday morning. I would give this place a five star rating except for her. Not friendly, at least not to me anyway. I'm a nice guy, I never say, or do, anything rude or arrogant. Every single time I shop there and have her for a checkout person I regret even going. The last time I went I waited until afternoon and had a superb kid check me out. He was funny, engaging and a pleasure. Only thing is, I'm older and really don't like waiting until the afternoon. Looks like I'll have to change my times permanently though because I really don't like walking through those doors and seeing that woman at the checkout. The 1st time it happened I figured she was having a bad day. The 2nd time I was thinking maybe not. Every time since I just hold my tongue, pay for my groceries and get out of there. She's pleasant enough to the other patrons because I've noticed it when she's done with me. She doesn't know me, I don't know her. Whatever. You're a five star store with a one star checkout lady on Saturday.

Everything was super organized and displayed wonderful. The reason for the two stars is that the customer service was awful. First, no one bagged my groceries and I saw three people doing nothing, just standing around. Second, I went to the courtesy counter and asked a young man with the name dayton a question about where laundry detergent was and all he replies is "where do you think? I'm busy." I was shocked with the this young man said to me in front of my kids, I really hope that Piggly Wiggly improves their employees at this location.
