Pete's Garage Bar

Irreverent & charming, Pete's Garage Bar offers good bar food and a relaxed atmosphere. I really liked their cheese curds and French fries; crunchy yet not greasy. The service is like they say: they are short-staffed so you have to pay attention and follow the guidelines. See for yourself! (Pic)

Came in during EAA, a little before the show was over, so it wasn't packed. By the time we left, it was getting full. The place has an attitude, at least in their menu, signs, etc. Amusing rules and bristly signs and comments. But service was actually great. Now, it's a bar, so it's not exactly full service. But the bartenders were super helpful and friendly, and came out to the table once in a while to check. You go up there to order your food and you go pick it up, but they were not as mean as the attitude the place projects would have you believe. It's a bar. Maybe if you mess with them, they get scrappy. But if you are decent, they go above and beyond. The decor is amusing and it's pretty typical Wisconsin-bar, or any bar, stuff. The beer menu was interesting though limited. The food menu was also kind of limited, but there are plenty of choices for anybody. I had a hard time picking from several good options. I went with the appetizer sampler, with curds, fries, and chicken tenders. Came out and it was huge. I couldn't finish it all. Great tenders, great fries, great curds. Your choice of sauce. I got the Korean pepper, and it was slightly tangy, but not spicy. My cousin and her husband loved their dishes, which were a chicken wrap and burger. Come here. Have fun. Don't be a dick. Have some good food and a beer, and enjoy the AC and attitude.

When I want the best burger in the area and a good laugh, this is where I go. You have to be ready for some good humor dished your way and some smack talking. This bar isn't very large so I always come before dinner rush, but there's a huge back patio with lots of seating in summer. It's just delicious bar food and amazing burgers and a price you cannot beat. And if they mess up your order, it's the most entertaining thing hearing them talk crap about themselves.

A local long term notorious bar & burger establishment with a unique edge. The menu names and signs around the bar tell you everything you need to know. It's a great place to "experience" once if you're from out of town. The environment is funny or offensive, depending on your personality so you'll love it or hate it. Great place for beer and some game at the bar you can play with the bartender..bar dice? Anyway, it is mostly a bar. I had went in recommendation that it was the best burger in town. I wasn't that impressed (thus the 3 stars) and I also got the pretzel sticks and the cheese was cold, very cold, but for drinks and fun it's a must try.

Good food, cheap prices. The bartender was giving us the "Ed Debevic's " routine, having an attitude. Maybe this is their routine at this place, I could have done without it

TERRIBLE half full drink thrown in a woman face that calls someone an ass slider .. 4 stars (if only the service was better, the drink woulda been full)In all seriousness who the fu*k doesn't like this place. Heard this place had the best burgers, but I would have to disagree. The burger was fine but lacked any seasoning or flavor. This is definitely a dive bar and you seat yourself and order at the bar. You will also need to listen for your order to go get it at the bar. This is fine, just know this going into it! I also ordered a cocktail, delicous, and the cheese curds, so many! Definitely a good amount of food for the price.

This is a great little gem in Oshkosh. Low expectations on space as you'll likely wait for a table. Also know that they will be very direct and you have to order at the bar. But the great burgers, cheeper drinks, and the overall fun environment definitely gives this place a true corner bar ambiance that is fun

Pete's garage gets a 5 star in its context as a corner bar. fine dining establishments need not be concerned their patrons will abandon them for Pete's. that being said, Pete's has mastered the essence of the corner bar. The menu is short but everything on it is excellent. The staff is sarcastic and blunt in the most fun way possible. The look of the place can't be duplicated, it is a random collection of license plates posters and rude signs. if F bombs offend you don't come here, and they don't care. When people say "hey, no bar language!" the bar they are talking about is Pete's. If you want a great sandwich, a fast cold drink served by a snarky bartender, Peye's is your kind of place

The food is very good I think the hamburger is the best in town,The prices are very good and the help create an enjoyable experience
