Underwhelming cream puff. The cream had no flavor and there was way too much of it.

I came here specifically for a few cannolis and left with so much more! It was my first time visiting this Italian bakery on Brady Street and I found it to have an excellent assortment of baked goods including Italian cookies sold by the pound, fresh breads made daily, donuts and croissants, cheesecakes and also unexpected goodies too like big, soft Bavarian style pretzels (for under $5), cornbread muffins and savory spinach and feta pastries. Prices were all very reasonable especially for the cannolis which were made to order. That's right! Don't panic like I did when I didn't see pre-made cannolis sitting behind a bakery case and figured they were all sold out by the time I arrived at 1pm on a weekday (ha!) When you ask for cannolis, you get to choose either plan or chocolate converted shells - I did a few of each. Each cannoli was less than $4 and a delicious / rare treat. I really enjoyed perusing all the delicious treats here and will be back to try more. So far I can highly recommend the cheesecake, cannolis, cherry turnovers and spinach & feta pastry. If you're into fresh bread they do have a punch card where you get a free loaf after you buy 12 loaves. I'll also mention that the customer service was a breath of fresh air. The woman who helped me was kind, knowledgeable and greeted me the moment I walked in. There is no inside seating. This is a grab and go place. As for parking, this is a busy part of the city so be prepared to circle the block a time or two to find a parking spot. I had some luck finding parking on a nearby side street (for free) and then just walked over. If you plan to come here during the weekend I imagine parking will be even more difficult to find - depending on the time of day you stop by.

I'm glad I saved Peter Sciortino's bakery in my Wisconsin collection because after a meal at La Masa, I searched for a dessert spot and Peter's came right up. And the Yelp reviews and pics were right on target. I wanted to get so much more, but I was ready to bust a gut (meaning my stomach was filled to 100%). So I settled on a mini cassata cake which had hints of lemon, it was really sweet and gooey which I happen to like by the way. I also selected a mini Boston cream cake and the outer chocolate was a bit too thick and as a result, the cake itself got smushed as I tried to cut into it. I still ate it and it was good tasting nonetheless. Finally, it was my first time being here and I thought the lady could a been a wee bit more friendly. I mean, it was not that busy and if you turn on a little charm, people tend to buy more. At least I do, I'm a sucker around friendly and kind people. All in all, I will be back because the mini cakes were good.

Love this bakery on Brady street! Husband and I wanted some small early afternoon snacks after a very lazy morning. We were welcomed to wonderful smells and sights! The glass cases and shelves were full with different breads, pastries, cakes, and meats.Ultimately we ended up going with a Nutella croissant and a spinach arancini which they were nice to heat up for us! The croissant definitely hit the spot - it was flaky, buttery, and chocolatey. What more could you want? The arancini was okay, I prefer the ones from Glorioso's, but objectively they were tasty. The service was fast and staff very friendly. I do wish that there was a spot inside or out for us to enjoy our treats!

Love this place!! As the daughter of a baker I will always support local bakeries and luckily this one is so close to my house and so good!! If you want a donut or pastry make sure to get up early, because they don't last long! I love the cinnamon rolls (have just the slightest lemon flavor in the glaze which makes them so perfect!!) for breakfast with a cup of their coffee, the Italian cookies for an afternoon pick me up, and the hot ham and rolls on a Sunday! Everyone who works there is always so nice and I've never ordered something that I didn't love!!

It's so wonderful having a few treats from Peter Sciortino Bakery. Reminds me of so much of my great grandma's baking and my great grand aunt's too! Enjoyed sharing this delightful and delicious treat with my co workers last week for thanksgiving!

Absolutely amazing bakery. We were looking for an authentic Italian bakery and we goin it in an historic Italian neighborhood. So many that I never knew existed. I'm sure these are from recipes that have existed for generations. I will be back. If you love Italian bakeries do not miss this one. We will be back.
