I always keep a cooler in my trunk for the weekends when I'm out and about and I find a meat shop, I actually jump on yelp and see what's around me. I like to always try the meat sticks from everywhere I go so I was excited to try some and other items. While in the Johnson Creek I wanted to stop by but I found them closed. On the bright side I was gassing up at the Pine cone travel plaza and I found a cooler with thier products and Habanero meat sticks was in it, jack pot because that's what I wanted but unfortunately I couldn't try other products.The Habanero meat sticks had that nice firm texture, not a slim Jim soft texture with good flavor and some nice heat to them. You can tell that this was a good quality meat stick and I can't wait to get into the store.

This was my 1st time using this business for my venison processing. Many of my friends recommended this business. It was decent drive for me but thier prices were far cheaper than anything closer to my area. The prices are extremely reasonable. I cut my processing costs almost in half by switching to this business. The staff was friendly and they also have nice cuts of beef/pork available for purchase. They processed my venison in a reasonable time as well. I will be using this business going forward.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had processing deer. Didn't get my own hamburger back because I didn't tell them I wanted my own meat up front. Now they are charging me twice for my sausage. $93 when I dropped it off, in addition to the $70 processing fee to cut it up, Another $140 now to pick it up??!! $303 for my scraps to get turned into sausage and processing?? I have the credit card receipts to show it's paid for and the insist it isn't. To many other places that actually value hunters and the hunting community. Choose another place to support!

Absolutely the worst meat processing experience we've ever had. We brought in a deer to have it hung, skinned and boned. We do the rest at home. The next day we got a call that it was ready for pickup. Not only was the animal not hung for a few days to age properly, we received the entire order of meat as a SINGLE CHUNK OF FROZEN MEAT COVERED WITH ICE CRYSTALS. THE MEAT IS ALL IN ONCE GIANT PIECE. We now need to thaw it to separate it properly before freezing again. It was not hung properly, it was not frozen properly, despite the fact that it wasn't suppose to be frozen in the first place.

Horrible customer service. Very short and rude. Called to see if they had product and was told yes. Drove thirty minutes to be told they were out. I asked why they told us they had it and she Ridley told us we had four pieces when you called. I wanted to tell her that if she wouldn't have hung up on me when I called I would have been able to ask more questions. Too many other options to deal with rude people.

I stopped in to check out the shop as I have driven by it so many times. Imagine seeing every employee, even the ones working with fresh food not wearing a state required Covid-19 mask. When I asked the cashier why no one was wearing a mask I got a smart ass comment and a smirk. I'll never be back

I brought a 15lb bag of scrap venison into this shop back in February just to grind into burger. The employee who set me up told me it would be ready in about 3 weeks and they'd give me a call. Sounds great! It is now the end of June. I have called serval times and haven't gotten an explanation on how their time frame was so far off... Hopefully the meat is unbelievably good.

My Family and I have been coming to Pernat's in Johnson Creek for 15 years, this year when I harvested my doe which field dressed at 156lbs I brought it to Pernat's, they told me the trim weight was only 34lbs. I thought that was a misread to me when they called me but when we picked up the backstraps and chops we inquired about the low trim weight the lady walked over to the chart that showed the average trim weight of deer then said I don't know what to tell you, she clearly knew something was not right and repeated to tell me I don't know what to tell you. Showed the backstraps to the three hunters behind me and all three agreed the backstraps didn't come from the deer I harvested. For $130 I expect to get my full deer especially when I pay more to on top of that to get the sausage I like. Pernat meat products are 3-star, maybe 4. But as any smart business knows, customer service will always override. In the past year, I've shopped at Pernats three times. Each time I entered the store the staff was lined up behind the counter like they're daring me for a mask confrontation. Obviously, this may not be the case, but when they're all leaning against the back counter, arms crossed, no hello greeting, and NO MASKS, it certainly gives this impression. Hey folks, like it or not, we're going through a pandemic. If Pernats cares so little about their customers, they probably don't care about their product either. Since meat markets in the Watertown and surrounding communities seem more concerned for their "rights" rather than their customers, I've taken to buying meat elsewhere. Driving a few extra miles is well worth it--friendly service, good quality and COVID precautions.
