Pernat-Haase Meats has been my choice location to take my venison for the last few years. They have an amazing selection of flavors to choose from and the meat I get back is always fresh and tasty. This year I went with cracked pepper and cheddar garlic hot sticks along with jalapeno landjaeger. The cost was a little bit up there, with it being about $175 for my order. But that is to be expected when you take in just scrap meat and order nothing but hot sticks. The only negative I have is that they could really upgrade the type of vacuum packaging they use. It is very thin, and in past experiences the meat doesn't last too long before it gets freezer burned. For the last two years, I have processed my own deer and just taken in the scrap for processing. This saves me money, allows me to cut it the way I want and use my own vacuum sealer. However, if you are not experienced enough or don't have the time, I would trust them with your venison. P.S. They no longer take checks.

Took in the trimmings from my deer. They had a good turnaround of 4 weeks. The venison jerky is excellent!

I'm very dissatisfied with my recent interaction with Pernat-Haase meats in Juneau. We dropped off two cows the night before they were to be butchered, which is a standard practice. The next morning I get a call saying that one of the cows attempted to jump the fence, got caught in the fence, and died. Since he died prior to slaughter, his carcass is now condemned. Finally, over a month after this happened I've been told that the insurance company won't cover it, so I'm basically out of luck. We raised this cow for two years. A lot of time, money, and sweat went into that. Now it's just gone with nothing to show for it. I could understand if he had died of natural causes, then it would not be their fault. However, as mentioned he was dropped off very much alive and healthy. The processing seemed good for the cow we were able to get butchered. I don't think we will be willing to use their services anymore.

Horrible experience taking my deer in for processing. Staff was rude and told others behind me to leave as the weren't taking any more deer. they didn't even care about these People. I suggested the practice a little good customer service and the Pernats staff member snapped, "why we have plenty of business". Well, not mine any more.

Always great with processing beef and pork. The lead time is definitely reasonable and everything is customizable. They've always got a great selection of bonus-meat in their freezers in the store too!

Just an overall poor experience when it comes to deer processing. The poor organization they have relys on the customer instead of the business that your paying to do a service. I would steer clear of the place just for the fact of terrible customer service.

My son called about our Antelope meat, He asked if we could have 1/2 hamburger and 1/2 hot sticks and they that was no problem. So I took the meat in and told them what we wanted. I watched the lady weigh the meat and it was just over 74lbs. Then I was told that couldn't be done that way! Told them what my son was told and they said they didn't know who would have told him that. I said I would have my son call because he's the one who called and talked with the lady. My son called and was told if he didn't like it come and pick the meat up. So I went back the next day and picked the meat up and they really didn't seem to care I made two waisted trips from Fond du lac. Took the meat to another meat market and when they weighed the meat there was only 59.4 lbs. So not only did they lie to my son someone there took 16lbs of our meat! There will be a complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau. I will never go back and will not recommend this place to anyone!
