Amazing fish fry! Crispy but yet not over kill with batter. Flaky fish and not greasy. Hard to say whether we loved the hashbrowns or fries more. Clam chowder was flavorful and full of good stuff. Not too peppery. Not too thick. Not too thin. Just perfect. Amazing for the price. Good friendly service, they treat you like a local. I would highly recommend.

Super fun middle of nowhere type bar with awesome music and all the bar games you could imagine. The owner herself is a party and thrives off of satisfied customers! There is plenty of street parking but if you park in the docks and plan on leaving your car for the night- make sure to move it to the main road or it will get towed. We didn't get a chance to order food but it looked (and smelled) amazing. Can't wait to come back

As usual while in Wisconsin we were looking for a Friday night fish fry. Peg and Doc's is not a bad place to try one or come back if you've been there before. Arrived at about 5:30 PM while in the area and the bar was packed and many were eating in the bar and dining room area. We were seated in the dining room which was about 1/2 full when we walked in. In about 15 minutes it was full and the rush was one. They have a walk up all you can eat salad bar with local goodies, potato salad, baked beans, clam chowder, chopped eggs, cheese, cottage cheese, beets, onions, toasted beard chunks, peppers, pickles, bacon bits, ham. Local traditional toppings and all you can eat and about 6 different favorite toppings. It was like the running of the bulls at about 6 PM and the line was endless at the salad bar and soon the flow of fish fries were being carried to the tables. We had choice of fried or boiled or a split of each on the fish fries. The waitress where very good and collected and seemed to know what they were doing and doing it well. My wife has been interested in the local murder mystery of Father Kunz, so a few of the locals were providing us with their take on the mystery and how things might of went down. If your in (Dane) Wisconsin this is a quaint little place with a good fish fry and local foods and I don't think you will be disappointed. Stop in and try it, you won't be disappointed

Great locals joint. It's a classic rural Wisconsin small town experience. Part tavern, part supper club. If you don't know what a tavern or supper club is... well if your in the area... anywhere nearby, like Lake Wisconsin, Devils Lake, Riding the Mighty Colsac - well you just have to round out your experience at Peg & Doc'sWe were there on a Friday night. It's a classic fish fry or bust. I had the 1/2 and 1/2. Half broiled and half fried... actually enjoyed the broiled more. Orders come with choice of potato, salad bar, soup... for $12.50 you aren't gonna go home hungry. One of my companions is anti-anything-fish... he enjoyed his bacon cheese burger and fries. Drinks are reasonable and and you'll enjoy them waiting for a table in the bar on a Friday night. But if you're impatient you can order food at the bar... or just come a little later. The dining room was backed at 6:30... but by 8:15 the crowd had cleared considerably. This is the sort of classic Wisconsin experience you're not going to want to miss.

Peg & Doc's is a fun, chill, divey, towny bar in Dane.If you visit on a Friday, try the fish fry for only $11, get a mix of baked and fried fish. You won't be disappointed. There's plenty of seating outside the bar area if you're in the mood for food and want to avoid the bar crowd. If you're in the mood to drink, play foosball, shoot a game of pool and listen to a digital jukebox, you're in luck cause they have all that too.

Food wasn't that great, but it's cheap. Service was good. My burger was close to a hockey puck and the fries were somehow grease logged and overcooked. But the booze was nice a cheap.

I normally do not frequent bars of this nature (small town/village bar), but was quite pleased with my past two visits. The bar is nothing fancy as far as decor or ambiance...but it does appear to be clean and taken care of and the food was really..REALLY good. Very large menu to choose from with everything from burgers, fried food, to salads...(YES salads). Both times I ordered burgers and what is cool is they offer not just the typical burger. They offer a Western burger, Mexican burger and Sour Cream and Mushroom Burger, etc. I have had the Western and the Sour Cream and Mushroom (added Swiss cheese) and they were yummy. Fries were crisp and not soggy. Will be place I drop in again at whenever I am in the area.

Service was a little slow, but they were very busy so it's understandable. The baked fish was great, however I wouldn't order the hash browns again. They were a little undercooked and had way too much grease/oil in them. Overall, this place was worth the trip and exactly what you'd expect of a small town bar as far as atmosphere.
