This Chicha Morada was sooo delicious from Pedro's! He personally takes all the orders and it's great to see him outside the restaurant at the farmers market! The drink was the perfect thing to cool me down after walking around.

Pedro's is so good! I have had their food truck at the Shorewood Farmers Market and at various events around Milwaukee. The employees are always friendly and the food comes out quickly. The empanada fillings are unique and delicious and the fresh chimichurri sauce is perfect. I especially love the arepas. Although the price has gone up since last time I visited (but what hasn't, ugh), they are SO good. I got the chicken tinga. The chicken was pull apart and flavorful, the arepa is a perfect pillow, and I loved the cabbage slaw with the sauce on top- it completes the dish!

I tried Pedro's for the first time at Locust St Fest a few weeks ago. It was on my radar but my timing isn't always right to catch food trucks. I was hungry but I got smart this time and scoped the scene for what looked best instead of just picking the first thing I saw to stuff my face with.At the festival it seemed like they had mostly empanadas and tamales. The reviews on here suggest a fuller menu so maybe I do need to catch them at another location. Not that there was anything wrong with those empanadas! I had one each of a bean and cheese variety, the chipotle chicken, and a beef one. The vendor said the bean one was really delicious. It was, but so were the others, all in different ways. I liked the flavorful heat of the chicken and the well seasoned beef as well. The empanadas were a little crispier and thicker in the dough department than, say, La Masa's. But I just take that as a different strokes for different folks kind of thing. I also liked the red and green sauces on the side. Of course more components make it trickier to eat on foot, but if I can negotiate a whole jerk chicken plate at another festival it's definitely not impossible.Tasty food and I'll have to be back to try more items.

Ok, I don't know what the hell took me so long, but an upgrade to 5 stars is long overdue.I keep going back to buy food from this cart. I find new items to try, and I try them and love them. I try items I had before and they are better than the last time I had them, so what more do I want? I want more Pedro's South American Food. That's what I want.Pedro's Carnitas Egg Rolls are light and crisp and delicious, and they're only $2! They are my jam!Pedro's empanadas seem to continue getting better every time I eat them. I've tried most of them, as he rotates them out. Most recently, I enjoyed the Poblano Corn Cheddar and Chicken Chipotle empanadas. The corn and cheddar provided a creamy texture to contrast the crispy shell and the chicken was so tender and flavorful! It's so easy to dry out chicken in an empanada, but it was perfect! The Pork Verde Tamales are awesome! Do you know how hard it is to find tamales where the masa doesn't taste dense and dry? I do. It's not easy, but Pedro's tamales aren't dense or dry. They are perfect. I think so, anyway. Pedro's take on Mexican Corn is amazing! The corn is served warm, topped with queso fresco, and an avocado crema. It's so flippin' delicious! What I don't understand is how the heck there are only 2 reviews. Where are you, Yelpers? Pedro's has two carts and they are all over town: Schlitz Park on Tuesdays, Red Arrow Park on Fridays, US Bank Center on Thursdays, Street Eats at Catalano Square, NEWaukee Night Market, The Rock Sports Complex, Third Space Brewing, Skyline Music Series at Kadish Park in Riverwest, etc.Find them on Facebook and follow them. Then eat their food. Then come here and tell everyone that you are now one of the cool kids to experience Pedro's South American Food cart. You may discover a food you didn't know you liked!Important note: Don't let the Mexican Corn on the menu fool you. This is not Mexican food. There are different types of tamales and empanadas from different Caribbean and Latin American countries, and this is South American food. Open your mind, then open your mouth and enjoy.

Being part Colombian and Venezuelan, I was super excited to come across Pedro's at the Food Truck Tour in Drexel Town Square. We ordered the black bean arepa and wow!! I was intrigued when I first picked up my order since they serve open-faced arepas and traditionally I've only seen arepas being served like a sandwich. It's much easier to eat this dish with a fork than by hand because of this. The toppings on the arepa were amazing! Everything was so flavorful and the slaw and pickled onions also brought amazing texture to the dish. I personally still prefer white corn arepas (we were served yellow corn) but everyone has their own personal preference. I can't wait to stop by again!

I tried the arepas here for the first time and was surprised how good it was. The meat is flavorful and plenty, the toppings of onions and cilantro went really well and I definitely plan to go back! I also gave the vanilla Thai tea a try and while I was expecting the vanilla to change up the flavor, it tastes like a regular Thai tea. Still a solid companion to go with the flavors of the arepas and I recommend it as a companion drink or a dessert.

Had some delicious empanadas from Pedro's at this year's Bay View Bash. I have an "always get empanadas" rule and it almost never lets me down - this was no exception. The cart had tamales & tostones which looked great (and based on Rick's review I probably should have grabbed a tamale) but my "empanadas 4ever" rule was in effect so I got 3 tasty pockets of goodness for $10. There were probably 6 flavors to pick from but I ended up with spinach/artichoke (sounded interesting), beef picadillo and meat/potato. I loved them all - each was good sized, well filled and full of fresh things. The standout for me was the picadillo one but honestly, I just wanted to get right back in line and eat empanadas until someone called the rescue squad. The folks working were really hustling to keep the line moving and were super nice. If you see this cart and pass it by, you're not living your best life.

found this food truck at chill on the hill (skyline music tuesday nights downtown), and even though I had already ate, I needed to give it a try. arepas, tacos, street corn, but I had to go with empanadas -- chose myself a white bean / cheese / jalapeño & a chorizo / polenta / cheddar (the employees favorite) ... enjoyed the unique flavor combos. the first was nice and cheesy, which I loved. the second the chorizo stole the show. with a pretty thick shell, I found myself on some bites tasting the exterior more than the stuffing, but they had two really good sauces on the side to help flavor it up (loved the mild verde, and a hot one). my friends who ordered had some misunderstandings when receiving their actual food (asked for one thing but got another), but the staff was very quick to adjust. it was a busy night, so no hard feelings. everyone was very friendly & kind. I would definitely return to try more of their South American menu!

I was a big fan when I tried Pedro's food cart that used to be at Red Arrow Park. Just ate at their food truck at Chill on the Hill. My husband ordered the $15 tinga chicken arepa and while he said it was good, it was really small for $15- and we had to stop on the way home and get him a sub to eat because he was still hungry. I had the black bean corn bowl, which was about twice the size (also $15) and it was ok- not super flavorful and there was a lot of water/liquid in the bottom that made the dish less appealing.
