If you need Greek or Mediterranean food items, this is the place to visit.Parthenon is not a large store, but they carry a nice selection.There is a small deli with to-go ready-to-eat items, olives, cheeses and made-to-order sandwiches and items.There are aisles of canned and boxed foods, spices and toiletries.Their cheese case carries some remarkable cheeses that go well beyond feta. Try the Bulgarian double cream from Krinos. It's excellent and tangy.It's clean, with a nice sized parking lot.They carry Greek wines and beer and assorted liquors.The staff is friendly.Do yourself a favor and visit.

We've stopped in to check this place out roughly a year ago. We couldn't have said better things about the gyro sandwiches and couldn't wait to return. This last visit, on Sunday, was not anything we could rave about. As they were not as good as they were prior. The pita fell apart, the tomatoes looked old and there were little onions. The fresh baked goods were not or miss. Not bad though. The shelves were stocked very well and the facility was clean. Staff was nice.

Super authentic shopping experience! If you're trying to recreate the feeling of buying things on a bus in Istanbul, this is the place to do it!I ordered about a dozen items. Unfortunately, one of them was a jar of pickles that broke and leaked over everything else. A container of honey also arrived broken. The clincher is that they substituted one of the items without asking. So I basically had a box covered in a sticky, dill-flavored brine, missing the one item I really cared about. In their defense, they refunded me for the broken items and offered an additional $1.80 for the hassle. It does look like an awesome store, and I would definitely shop there if I lived in the area. But you're taking your chances ordering from them online.

8/21 I ordered Widmer's brick cheese online.8/28 I asked where it was.8/29 It shipped.9/5 Seven days later it arrived with an internal temperature of 77 degrees. I emailed them concerned.9/6 Their paraphrased reply was, "Don't worry about it." I then told them it's for an event that includes the elderly. I asked if they'd split the cost of a fast shipment. They declined.Their site says, "We make adjustments to avoid weekend delays." It also says, "UPS delivers Tuesday-Saturday." Had they shipped on a Monday with regular shipping, or on a Tuesday with Saturday shipping, the cheese would not have sat in a warehouse over a three-day holiday weekend.Everyone goofs. It's not the mistake. It's how it's handled. I say skip this mediocre middleman. I recommend ordering Widmer's brick cheese directly from Widmer's online store. It'll cost more in shipping, but if you order more than one brick it's a lot more reasonable and Widmer seems to be running a better business than Parthenon. Brick cheese seems to freeze OK, but do your own research.

Do not shop here.I ordered a couple times through their online option and when the orders arrived the expiration dates where always close from expiring. The last order I placed on January 18 of 2024 arrived just to find out that the whole order was past expiration date ranging from expired for month to a couple weeks. I wrote to let Parthenon Foods know about the problem, just to be ignored. Horrible customer service, after the third email the answer was only because the product is past expiration date does not mean it is bad. Then being ignored again and disputed the charges with my credit card company for a full refund what was paid in the end but was dragged out by Parthenon. I think they use the online option to dispose of old products and hope people will not notice or just give up on reimbursement. Would not buy anything here again. Great selection of Greek products. Staff were friendly and helpful. The gyro is made fresh at a great price. Great place to get fresh food

I needed last-minute ingredients for Greek Easter dinner and found everything I needed here. Very conveniently located near State Fair Park and easy on and off the highway. I love having this within a short distance for my occasional Greek needs.

I put in an order from Parthenon as I have an upcoming meeting and wanted to share some Greek goodies. However, the baklava, malomakorona, and raspberry cookies that I ordered were all crushed! What the hey??? Don't they know the basics of packing and shipping? I also paid shipping charges!!! Never again! What a waste of money!!!

I ordered 2 pounds of chestnut, with shipping was $30 and change..........I got them and was excited. This was to be a treat for me, instead what I got was rotten moldy nuts. Out of the 2 pounds I got about a palm size serving of edible nuts. I notified them and they said they would give me a 10% discount. (I told them I'd never order again.......not worth the money). I am on a limited fixed income......so this was quite the expense to toss in the trash.
