Ouzo Cafe

We stopped in one night for dinner, the restaurant wasn't busy, which was expected for a weekday night. The café has plenty of tables and a little bar area, and lots of Greek décor and videos to transport you to Greece. The servers were very attentive and pleasant. We ordered the Keftedes for an appetizer, they were so delicious! Well seasoned and the perfect crispy shell with soft pita bread. We also ordered the Zeus and the Lemon Baked Salmon. The Zeus was well seasoned and included lamb, pork, and beef in a pita. The Lemon Baked Salmon was a little to lemony for my taste but still good, I just wish I had something to cut the lemon flavor a little bit. Overall, the food and drinks were good, and would be back to try more. I did find the prices a little high for some items, including the drinks, some more worth it than others.

It's been a while since I last dined in. The dining room walls have been redone and tables are now lined with white butcher block and cloth napkins with nicer place settings. The menu is also updated with a new items. The food is still as good as I remember! The Beef Souvlaki has always been my go-to here, so I ordered it for lunch today. The beef cubes were well-seasoned as always and the pita was soft and delicious, as well. Even the fries were good. These were well-seasoned shoe string fries, and they were perfectly fried crisp.I couldn't stop thinking about the Grilled Octopus on the menu, so I ordered it, too, and asked chef to slice it for me. It was tender and served in olive oil with warm and soft pita. Sooooo good!A 6-top reservation came in while I was there. Yes, they accept reservations, which I believe you can book through their website.I've been coming here for years and seen different family members behind the counter or in the kitchen over the years, which adds to the charm of a small, family-owned business, and also shows I've aged. If you haven't been here, or haven't been here in a while, come check them out!a little more upscale in appearance with a casual vibe.

Have just read some not so good reviews.I totally disagree. I just moved here from New York City and have traveled to Greece several times. I did not like my meal at Ouzo Cafe.....I LOVE, LOVE, Loved it! Great lemon soup great fried calamari,wonderful service and ambiance. Please go and enjoy!

Stumbled upon this place by accident and I'm glad we did! Very clean restaurant with reasonable prices and good food! For appetizers we tried the spanakopita that was crispy on the outside and warm/creamy on the inside then covered in salty feta! We also tried their dips that were all great! The sandwiches are both really good on soft bread with good quality meat. The service was also pretty quick and all the staff was really nice!

In A Nutshell:-Ouzo Cafe is a nice Mediterranean restaurant located in downtown MKE.-I was looking for a healthy meal during this trip so I wouldn't get bloated prior to the triathlon.-I was happy to find this restaurant.-I ordered their shish kabobs which comes in 3, you can choose from chicken, pork or beef.-The greek salad was also very good, very flavorful.Overall, the service was friendly & attentive.

Authentic Greek food in the heart of Milwaukee. Fun whimsical decor and very good service. The Souvlaki was more like a sandwich wrap than what I'm used to from Astoria, but delicious. A nice dinner at a reasonable price.

The food is delicious and the service is even better! I love the Greek burger and Greek fries. Plenty of other healthy options. Clean and food comes out in a timely manner. We went for lunch and we were in and out in no time! Thank you!!

Tommy took great care of us. The atmosphere was cozy. The food took us back to the Greek Isles through his grandmother's recipes. We are going back with friends to share the experience. Efcharisto!

We had lunch at Ouzo while visiting Milwaukee. The food was fair - interesting sounding items, but small strangely seasoned and ungarnished portions at high prices. (The avgolemono soup tasted like lemonade and the octopus tasted like oregano bubblegum). When we returned home, I realized I'd left my credit card at the restaurant. I called and our server said I'd have to return in person (400 miles) to get it back. I asked to speak to the manager about an alternative, but he was too busy to talk to me. For three days and three more calls he remained too busy (uncaring) to talk to me, so we had to cancel our credit card and make all the account changes that entails. I recommend going to one of the other Greek food restaurants in the city, such as Mediterranean Cuisine a couple blocks away (and remembering to pick up your credit card).

Stopped here to get a bite before heading to a show. Demetrius was so helpful and friendly! Lovely little place with wonderful tapas.
