Love the Pabst history at On Tap! They did a great job highlighting the fact that it's located in the former Pabst Brewery. Very Milwaukee centric, pub style spot that's great for an out of towner like myself. Since I'm not a beer drinker, I went with a glass of white wine. The bartender does a nice pour! I dined here with a friend after a work event, so we were cutting it a little close with the kitchen, but still had an hour until it closed. We ordered the fried pickles and giant pretzel. Both were super yummy bar food options! I liked the sriracha mayo that came with the fried pickles. The pretzel was huge and so delicious! I wanted to ordered more food, but the server ended up grabbing our menus before we could, and I think she was a little busy because we didn't see her again after that. Despite not being able to get more food, what we were able to try was great!

The food was good, the atmosphere was good, the service was good. However, we never really felt welcome, it took a very long time to get someone to our table. The Bloody Mary was great and the cheese curds delicious. For me, it's all about the service. I wish it would have been better.

Lots of good things but also lots to be improved on! We were staying in the attached hotel. Ate dinner here before heading to karaoke. There was also a Bucks game that night. We ordered poutine, wings, and a salad. My husband had an old fashioned and I had a Diet Coke. Our server was nice enough but we didn't see him much. After waiting a very long time, we were able to ask another server for utensils, plates, and boxes for our leftovers. She was very sweet and kind to help us even though we were not her table. We never got refills or more drinks since no one checked in. There was a small piece of plastic in our poutine :/Funny enough, we returned after karaoke because folks wanted more drinks and some appetizers. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because the second (later night) experience was much better. Bartender was friendly, giant pretzel and fried pickles were tasty, space was welcoming and fun. I'm thinking the staff was overwhelmed by the crowd before the Bucks game, but not sure if I'd return.

After eyeballing this place for some time I finally tried it on a cold quiet weekday afternoon when I was close by for a doctor's appointment at Froedtert. Louis the bartender couldn't have been better! He was friendly and attentive, and brought me my Guiness and delicious fish and chips promptly. The place was quite nice inside and I could just imagine it jumping on a busy night. The food overdelivered and the presentation was great. I'll definitely return!

Stopped in for drinks since this place was closed the last time I was in town. The spot is beautiful. Horrible service. Bartender didn't greet us or introduce himself, just said "are you having food drinks or both". He never made eye contact or acknowledged us as we ordered, legit was like talking to a wall. What was strange was he asked us about opening a tab took our card and kept it. When we closed out the second bartender said that was strange and wondered if that was a new thing because he said it wasn't necessary. I only give it two stars because his relieving bartender was very friendly and if he was our first encounter my review might have been very different. Will not be stopping back in here.

We stopped in on Krampusnact which was probably a bad idea in retrospect. It's part historic building, part sports bar, part pub. It was hopping. The food is good but the beers are kinda pricey ($7 for a PBR, I think). Our server was nice but spacey, he forgot our beverages and silverware for our food. I do want to go back and check it out in a chiller time.

Dinner decided on a whim and picked On Tap for the first time. It gives off a Bar vibe more than a restaurant, a spot to grab something to eat and watch a game. The service was spot on and quick and the dining area is huge, the place alone is beautiful. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat with friends (or solo) this is def the spot to checkout.

Nice casual spot to drink and eat some bar food, especially if you're in the area for a Pabst tour or staying at the Brewhouse Inn, otherwise not worth going out of your way to get here. Very friendly waitress and bartenders. Nothing fancy, yet not dive, but relaxed and comfy. $18 Giant Pretzel, served with Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Beer Cheese, and Honey Mustard...a very good, big, thick pretzel! Just seemed a bit overpriced. $17 Milly Cheesesteak...Prime Rib, Peppers, and Onions on a French Baguette, Smothered in PBR Beer Cheese and America's Finest Sliced Cheese...fatty, cheesy, meaty, and delicious!

On Tap is located in the Brewery District in a former Pabst Brewery mill house and so retains many historical architectural remnants. Cavernous space, tall ceilings, outdoor patio. The menu is standard Wisconsin pub fare. If you check in on Yelp you can get a beer when you order a burger (I did not do). I ordered fish and chips -- 3 large northern cod filets in PBR batter were crispy and flaky. This also came with fries and some tasty apple poppyseed coleslaw. My friend ordered a crispy chicken sandwich and subbed in a green salad. I also had a sangria which was good. Casual bar food but all pretty tasty. They were a bit short staffed so it took a while to get our food and to receive our check.

Fish fry was good, and cheesesteak wasn't bad either. Music was too loud and big space was not warm to "hanging out". I was disappointed that there wasn't more Pabst history in the Tap room besides one big neon sign (missed opportunity), I created a special vibe. Maybe some softer drapes or wall hangings would absorb some of that he excess echoey noise.
