Great selection. Reasonable prices. But let's talk service for a sec. I stopped in today for the first time looking for something specific. Wild boar steaks or loin. They didn't have it out front and "their meat guy" had left for the day. They gentleman could tell I was irritated, went in back and found 3 of them for about half what I expected to pay for. Solid service. Truly excellent. Can't wait to go back.

This place is an adventure in its self! Whether you're from Antioch or the area, or not, take a few hours and make a trip to the Old Mill Creek Country Store. My wife and I made the trip today and boy are we glad we did. We walked out of there with lots of meaty goodness, and plenty of exciting exotic meat options. This place has it all - Elk, Venison, Wild Boar, Buffalo, Goose, Duck, Pheasant, Quail, and even some random meats like Ostrich and Camel. Plus the staples like beef, pork, chicken, turkey, etc. Everything is organic, grass fed, and of the highest quality. Surprisingly, their prices are amazing! I expected very marked up prices and costly cuts of meat for being such a cool niche specialty type place, but nope. You could actually do your grocery shopping here. Make sure to ask questions too! Every person is super friendly and knowledgeable. They'll tell you best ways to cook things, when they'll have more variety, where the meat comes from, and more. I'll definitely be making regular trips to the a Country Store!

stopped there today and was very pleasant surprised on what they had to offer. Polish ham in the deli 2.99/lb purchased some American cheese there and it's quite a while since I've had some THIS fresh :) Bought some specialty cheeses too,the organic Honey Crisp apples were a bargain 2.49lb... not even worth growing your own. found some nice bakery items like Kringles from Kenosha !!!the nice selection of chocolates in front were exceptional and you can choose a nice assortment I'll be back!!noticed a sign that you can have a sub sandwich made before your eyes with a bowl of homemade soup so I'll be stopping there again for sure

This is a very unique speciality grocery with many organic choices and meats including Venison, bison, elk and buffalo. Very nice deli with sandwiches and soups. A lot of unique speciality foods you find elsewhere.

This place is relatively new having opened in April 2016. After some research, we came up here to shop for some more exotic meat products like elk, boar, ostrich, and such. They had just what we were looking for - that something a little different for gift items. Staff was friendly, and up this away, it's an upscale country store in the country. Not surprisingly, many of their uncommon products are on pricey side, but we can at least come up here and save on shipping. We were told they now have 11,000 customers from all across the nation, and they are a major wholesale supplier. Check their website for more history of their business if interested.

I would term this place as a specialty store. If you're looking for organic food or meat from Blackwing Ostrich Meats, Inc then this is the place for you. I came in here because I wanted to try Wild Boar. I ended up getting their Wild Boar Summer Sausage with jalapeno cheese and after trying it, I had to come back for more. 2nd trip included their Elk Summer Sausage with jalapeno cheese and 1 lb package of Ostrich Ground meat patties. Those were equally great and now I can say that I've tried wild boar, elk, and ostrich meat.As for the store, it is a stand-alone store with a decent size parking lot. Both times that I was there, they weren't too busy, so it was pretty easy for me to navigate around and take my time to browse. They are very friendly and do have a decent number of grocery items. Prices are a bit on the higher end, but that is because you're paying for the quality of the product such as grass-fed meat and organic items. I can see myself dropping by here occasionally to get my specialty meat.

Started going again since I have to wait longer at Jewel. "New" employee recognizes me and gets my order right. Second time order right and I found a more local and less expensive brand if turkey while I was waiting for service.

Love the lady at checkout wearing a mask but only over her mouth not nose. And she pulled it down to cough while i was in line. What's the point at that point ha. Good food at least but highly priced. Manager needs to get his staff to follow the rules here...

This is my second time at this store. Was not impressed with customer service the first time. But I thought I'd give it a second chance. So I walk in the store and I say hello to Lindsay, but she offers no help. Then I notice Nan who didn't help me the first time I was at this store. She has no customer skills. So I ask Lindsay for help but she is new she says and has no clue of what's going on or where anything is. Do you think Nan helped out? NO SHE DIDN'T!!! She continued washing two big spoons and she turns around and gives me this horrible look and continues washing the spoons. Made me feel like crap. What really sucks is that I'm getting no help and I have no idea where anything is. I really felt like I was being ignored and was not an important customer. Just some bum off the streets. So I'm walking around the store looking for my items and all I can think is why did I stop here. So I find a few items that I needed and paid for them and went home. Now I get home and start preparing a little snack of the items I just purchased. A little cheese, whole grain crackers and Columbus Salame. Everything was going nice until I noticed the date on the salame. It's passed it's use by date. Not one or two days but 18 days passed. I was gonna return it but they closed already. So I thought I'd write a little something on here and hope the owner sees it and rectifies this. If the salame is over due what else is? So I'm adding some pics just so that the store can't say I'm making this up.

$$$Well, we got what we got. Really, it's not a bad store, speaking of the produce. The atmosphere/staff that they try to bring is good too, and when I came in, there was even a DJ! It was a bit crowded however(yes, even 2 police officers' vehicles were outside to regulate traffic): the parking lot was almost full. For the amount of people in there, the store needs to be a bit bigger, that's a fact. Adding on to that, not the best interior either. Also, what would be good is a better selection.Prices are in the Mariano's and Whole Foods bracket(most at least). Grass-Fed Meat is pretty expensive, probably the most expensive produce there. Yes, you can even order custom meat, which is probably even more money.Oh, did I not mention: a LOT of grass-fed and organic items inside.I like it to stop every once in a while, and get some meat or fish etc, even though it is expensive, and atmosphere is not best. Staff is pretty good tooFinal Grade: B+
