Food truck Friday! I have noticed this food cart/truck always seem to be popular, and thought I would give it a try. I got the special today - 2 chicken chimichangas, and they were really good! It came with beans and rice, a little bit of salad and some avocados all in this little container. Really quite a bit of food for $7.75!Only suggestion for improvement was that they only have forks to give out, and you really did need a knife to cut the chimichangas, or just use your hands. Fortunately I brought it back to my place of work where I had all kinds of utensils.

They have a cart set up outside my office building every day, and they always have the longest line. The food is solid ad served quickly. It's a 2 person operation and they have it down to a science. The rice and beans are decent and they feature a special every day, but get there early because it sells out fast. Today's special was Beef Brisket Tacos. The brisket was pulled and it was tender, although it lacked seasoning. The toppings I added help the overall flavor profile. Tacos are served on corn tortillas. Three tacos with rice and beans is only $7.50, so they provide a nice value. They also sell burritos, tamales, and tortas, but I've only had their tacos and tamales. If another food truck doesn't have what I'm in the mood for, I'll check out Ofelia's special. If it's sold out, I usually punt and go to Downtown Kitchen or 600 East Café.Definitely worth checking out, if you haven't already.

Ofelia's isn't quite a food truck. It's a foot cart but that's not to disparage it in any way. The lunch she serves up is top quality and she clearly knows the regulars, as I saw when I patronized her cart with my customer.I chose the three chicken tacos with everything minus jalapenos. What I got was a massive amount of food and all for well less than $10. Very fresh, the tortillas tasted like they'd been made that morning and the pico de gallo was nice and zippy, and the avocado slices were cut right from the avocado on top of my tacos. It was a little hard to eat that much food, but I managed to do it. There are some tables and chairs nearby along Mason Street by the river so you don't necessarily have to take lunch back to your desk. There is always a line and that's a good thing.Cash only, as far as I could tell.

Usually located at Water & Mason Sts during lunch, Ofelia's is a small food truck that is associated with Waterfront Deli. They serve Mexican favorites like tortas, tamales, tacos and burritos. Since its located outside my building, I've eaten here several times. The pork tamales are really, really good - not dry yet not greasy. Tortas are also very tasty but be clear from the get go as to what you do or don't want on your sandwich. The menu board does not call out onions but I had a big handful the last time which I wasn't thrilled about.Every day they have a special, usually enchiladas or chimis. Regular dishes are limited to pork or chicken in most cases. Service is good but be aware that the line can be long at peak lunch times, meaning you can wait 10-15+ minutes to order. Ofelia's is a "nice to have" since it's literally a 1 minute walk for me personally. I wouldn't make a special trip but if you're in the area, give Ofelia's a try.

Great food, good sized portions, and probably the cheapest prices for authentic Mexican downtown. Just wish they took cards.

This is by far my favorite Food Truck. They park daily in front of the US Bank building on the corner of Van Buren & Wisconsin so it is very convenient to my office. I absolutely love their menu! The daily special is always good. I have also had the tacos, tamales, veggie burrito, and today I tried the veggie quesadilla today and it was delicious.

They definitely have more than one stand because I've seen them in two different places on the same lunch break. Definitely worth a stop. I've had both the tacos and burritos and I have to say both are delicious, fresh, and full of all the toppings your heart could desire. And their daily specials are almost always worth a try. The beverage selection is a bit lean but the lack of space on a small food cart can't really be overcome. The staff I've dealt with have always been pleasant and efficient, dealing with the 10-15 people in line quickly. I've never waited more than ten minutes for lunch around noontime, so they're definitely good at what they do.My stomach is glad they park a stand outside my building every day.

This is the best most filling $1.75 taco I have ever had. I found the truck by the US bank building. Apparently, it is wildly popular but perhaps because it isn't a "restaurant" people haven't reviewed it much. The ingredients are all really fresh and yummy and the taco comes with avocado, onion, tomato, salsa, you name it. I also like that they ask how much packaging you need so you don't have to waste a bag if it's not needed.

Without a doubt, my favorite food truck. The food is cheap and the quality is outstanding. Tacos, tamales, tortas....all great! Not to mention the toppings are always fresh and portions are generous. Plus, they don't hit you up with extra charges for avocado or sour cream, it's all gratis.
