Stopped in for drinks and ended up ordering a few appetizers. They had a great tap list. For food, we tried the okra and beignets. The okra was really good, especially the remoulade sauce that it came with. Beignets were good too.Everything came out really fast, we were there just before closing. Our bartender was super sweet. I can't believe I've never come here before! Their patio looks really nice. I would love to come back in the summer.

I went here with my HB & 2friends in mid-September to drown our sorrows after our flight to NOLA was cancelled due to a hurricane. We had so much good food! Jambalaya, red beans & rice, shrimp po' boys and yes - a hurricane! Our service could not have been more friendly & accommodating. If only Justin F the Bouncer with the Muscle Juice had been working! (Wink)Plus, we felt like we were straight up in New Orleans! Fun decor, murals - everything! I came home with a purple boa & a fistful of Mardi Gras beads!!! Going back there tomorrow!!!

We called to get take out tonight. Lady answers phone and I say I would like to place an order for takeout. She said okay hold on, I hear a lot of noise and she says, you've got to be kidding me. A guy says he'll help. He gets on phone and asks what he can help with. I said 2 orders of the Jambalaya pasta please. I asked if it had onions. He checks, comes back and said no onions in it. I said great, I can't have onions in there. Place order he said it would be 20 minutes. We pick it up and bring home. It's warm. Open it up...so disappointed. The creole tomato sauce is non-existent. There is seasoning, no sauce. It is supposed to have shrimp, chicken and sausage. Good on sausage/chicken. You can't find the shrimp. Partly because they are like either tiny popcorn shrimp or shrimp from a can. You would think you'd have a couple large blackened shrimp. The entire dish is beyond lackluster. I'm not even convinced the person that took our order worked there!

This is the worst Cajun food and I was embarrassed when I brought my friends here to try it. The fish tacos were actually good though.

Went here on a Saturday night, mainly because they're pretty much the only cajun restaurant in town and because we had a Bucky Book coupon. The place wasn't very busy, which we were kind of surprised about for a Saturday, however after going there I understand why. They had it so that you pick a table with a number and order at the bar and they bring the food out. Staff was nice, but clearly training and it was pretty slow all around both to order and to get the food.We ordered the fried okra as an appetizer and then the jambalaya and etoufee large size because they came with bread. It took probably close to 30 minutes to get our food and the supposed appetizer came out with the regular food. That said everything was hot and fine, but I would skip the bread and just get the regular size. We also, tried their amber beer, since we hadn't realized they brewed beer. This was the best thing we ordered. It was a very smooth drinking amber. Would definitely get that again.Again, the bartenders were nice and there seemed to clearly be a usual customer base here. However, it just wasn't the vibe I was looking for that night and wasn't what my expectations were. Mainly because I was pretty hungry when we got there, and then the food took too long. Would probably go back to try their beers, but not necessarily more food.

The night of partaking 2023 Mardi Gras! Very festive atmosphere! The cheese curds had a delicious pull and were super yummy especially that Cajun seasoning on the curds! The hurricanes went down way too easy! I love my shrimp and the shrimp po'boy was the perfect option for moi! This is my second time at this restaurant!

I'd been eyeing this restaurant for a while and finally decided to grab some takeout to try it out. I ordered the cheese curds as an app, the red beans and rice as a main, and the beignets for dessert -- I was excited to find them on a menu! The cheese curds pretty darn good. They came with a classic ranch that was tasty and complimented the curds well. The red beans and rice was flavorful but could have had a bit more sausage. And the beignets... Mmm, covered in powdered sugar this was my favorite part of the meal.Since this was takeout, I didn't get a chance to see the inside too much but I'm hopeful that soon I can visit again.

So we were in town and looking for a good place to eat. And I have lived in the south and my wife is from La. So we know good southern food. North of the Bayou in Madison, WI. was just as good as any food we would have got in my wifes home town! Her crawfish etoufee was WONDERFUL! I had the crawfish poboy and it was just as good! The place was clean and well decorated. It was not over decorated which you see in allot of southern style restaurants. All I can say it was really good and the service was very good. I would go again....Its worth the trip!

We have been wanting to check this place out, but they are never open. The one time they are we were denied access at the door because 1. They only had one wristband available and 2. Another security guard said they don't let people in just to get a drink at the bar because the whole place is a nightclub. If they don't want us there we will never come again

Tonight we went to North of the Bayou and we were hesitant due to mixed reviews. We pulled up and there were about 4 cars in the parking lot, so our expectations dropped. But when we went in and sat at the bar, the bartender was so lovely, the music was great and we got some free beer samples. They brew their own stuff!!We ordered the fried okra, sweet potato fries, etoufee and jambalaya. The okra was so freaking good, paired with super solid watery ranch (our fav). The sweet potato fries had some Cajun spice mix and were 100% cut my hand. I wish they were a tad crispier but they were absolutely not frozen, completely handmade if I had to guess. The jambalaya was a 7/10. The etoufee was the star though. We got crawfish and it really hit the spot on a chilly fall night. It made me bummed that it was so empty because they are really trying and the food was pretty darn good. Will be back around Mardi Gras for more. If you're skeptical, try it for yourself. Would recommend
