Expectation level: Mom and Pop DinerI go to a lot of places like this, and the Parks have a lot to choose from whether it be Sunrise, Docs, Potato Shak, Hollywood etc. Honestly I expected more of the same. Decent meal, possibly a little bland. In this case however I was pleasantly surprised.Pros:-Most diner and cafe style meals I have usually have a little dryness to them, or lacking flavor, but Nori's was a tad more flavorful with the corn, heartier with the soup, and my american fries / chopped steak were not all dried out. I was really impressed.-Might be a smidge more expensive than other similar joints, but its only a hair.-VERY casual atmosphereCons:This place is seriously dated, and could really use a face lift. It has nothing to do with the food, but Nori's is a bit old school, and I feel their booths are a bit cramped.Bottom line:I want to give Nori's another try just to confirm, but if the place had even a 50% improvement on the atmosphere's dating it could be a 5 star in my mind. First of all, our server seemed to be in quite a foul mood right off the bat and we felt a little hurried. We were not there right before closing or anything and there were only a few other tables so they weren't scrambling. The waffles were an odd texture and seemed almost stale and the apples on top were very soggy, almost a mush. The veggie omelet was good but of the four of us only one liked their meal. And we're easy to please with breakfast-- give me eggs and bacon and I'm happy. I really wanted to like Nori's because of its proximity to Rock Cut but we all left saying we probably wouldn't come back. Will likely give it another shot because I know everyone has bad days but our first impression was not a good one.

bacon had bad taste-dirty ,oily grill taste-did not eat-did not like the taste of pancakes or coffee,so only thing I ate was eggs and threw rest of breakfast away-will not waste my money again.

Great value and good food! I think it's charming that they have all different kinds of coffee mugs (they are also bigger than the average coffee cup so you don't need a refill immediately).

We stopped in this morning on our way home from Janesville. Such a cute and welcoming vibe!! We sat at the counter and the owner and her husband and staff made us feel welcome! The food was delicious and all piping hot! Every person who worked there was attentive and we never had to ask for anything! They anticipated every need! We will be back Andes will spread a good work for Nori's! Keep up the great customers service!

First off, any place that serves breakfast all day is gonna get a positive review unless it's just bad. Fortunately Nori's was very good. The only bad thing is that one lady was doing everything. Waiting tables, greeting customers, cleaning tables and cash register. So service was a little slow. But I'm not gonna fault her for that, because I didnt know the situation. Good food and coffee.

Great service but the food? Really bad. I did not think anyone could screw up breakfast but I now know they can. The hostess and waitress were friendly and attentive. The food however was just bad. The hash browns were old and rubbery. There was barely any sausage in the biscuits and gravy although the biscuits were actually quite good. The toast was not toasted, just buttered bread. Since I had a skillet, those awful hash browns were in everything and just ruined it. They were really bad. I would not eat there again.

If anyone was at Nori's Cafe on 2033 Harlem Rd in Loves Park, IL on 5/22/2024 about 11:30 - noon and witnessed a gentleman tripping on the torn-up carpet and falling, please call me at 708-927-7959 ASAP! The man is severely injured, and the family is wanting the restaurant to pay what his insurance doesn't pay. They are not looking to get rich, just need help with the bills.
