Very good take out greasy spoon. Burgers are really good. Take out only. Service is really slow so don't stop if looking to grab something quick. A joint worth checking out if looking for a high quality burger.

This unassuming little drive in makes a seriously great burger. I can't comment on the service, as the burger I ate was delivered to me, but I'm going to visit soon. First and foremost, the single hamburger is huge. I mean entire meal huge. Is it greasy? Of course it is. Just as the best drive in burgers should be. Looking forward to trying other menu items soon.

It is now 2:45 pm and the place is closed, yet again. The website says open from 11am to 3pm daily. We give up trying to give them our business.

For me, this place was overhyped. I've heard great things about their burgers so was excited when my sister shared she was picking them up for lunch. She didn't call ahead of time and waited 20+ minutes for the cheeseburgers. At first glance, I was expecting a cheeseburger similar to Kopp's. I love those cheeseburgers. The bun was dry, the patty was actually a good size by I just didn't care for it. Didn't have much flavor. My sister was disappointed as well. I'll go back to try their shakes sometime but would probably skip the burger.

Cash is kingI've been wanting to stop back for some time now and finally made my way in after a run to South Milwaukee. Anyways, I'm still just not that impressed compared to other local offerings. The burger patty itself was nicely sized but over cooked for my liking. My side of fries was plentiful and crispy but needed some salt or seasoning.

Nite Owl lets you step into Happy Days and greaser culture from 60 years ago. Oh, and the food is great.Nite Owl is one of those Milwaukee landmarks that is becoming harder and harder to find. Maybe Leon's and a few other spots have this feel, but it is special and should be adored by visitors and locals alike. From a high level, it is a burger and shake joint that is cash only, and across from the airport so you can watch planes land and take off. It has a 50s/60s Americana theme that isn't a theme, but actually how it has been since it was built. That's just how it always has been. The burgers are great. Made to order, cooked well, choose your toppings, and delicious. A little greasy, but the way a real burger should be, and exactly the way they would have been 60 years ago. Throw in some fries, and you've got a stellar lunch. Now on the to shakes and treats. The ice cream and shakes are also delicious. They have a large menu to choose from, and can be shakes or malts. When you are not in a pandemic and can actually go into restaurants, I would say eating inside is mandatory to get the full experience. It is filled with all the signs and relics of the past that people love so much. It is a small diner with only a few tables and booths, so there can be a wait at times, but it is worth it.Order some grub, enjoy the joint, then sit outside and watch some planes as you try to make out with your girl like it's 1957...it's really the cat's pajamas daddy-o.

I finally made it to the legendary Night Owl after moving to the 414 four years ago. I had the cheeseburger with the works (mustard, ketchup, grilled onions, pickles) and it was generously sized and very tasty! This is a busy little place and there is a bit of a wait for your order, but they do have a sign posted asking for your patience which was cool. Minus a star only for the fact that the sit down area is closed and I had to sit on the curb to eat. I'll definitely be back soon!

My family and I made the mistake of our first, and probably only stop, being on the day of a car show in Nite Owl's parking lot. Apparently that meant no parking other than on side streets, a limited menu that disappointed my oldest kid because their chicken strips were unavailable, and higher than normal prices.Given the limited menu, we ordered three single cheeseburgers, a grilled cheese for the little one, and four orders of fries. My wife and I also got shakes, hers being chocolate and mine being root beer. The little one doesn't complain too much so he ate half of his grilled cheese and some fries with ketchup without a problem. The older one didn't like the burger so he ate maybe a quarter of it. He also didn't have a problem with the fries using ketchup. He took a couple small bites of the other half of the grilled cheese and didn't like that either. Both my wife and I were thoroughly disappointed with our burgers. The size was fine and it was cooked well enough (though maybe a tad too much for me), but it was so bland. The patty didn't have a speck of seasoning. Same for the fries. We ate as many as we could so as not to waste too much food, but even ketchup couldn't save those. The shakes were fine, though I wish I had gotten lime instead of root beer. I also tried a bite of the second half of grilled cheese and immediately spit it out. Something about it had a funky taste and I didn't leave it in long enough to determine the exact cause.Pro tip, an order of fries is HUGE. Had we known how much you get in an order, we would have ordered two instead of four.As I said, I doubt we will stop again. The prices are great, but Mazos Hamburger (the most comparable place I can think of) has far superior food, particularly the burgers.

What's really the point of they are either not ever open, don't have seating, or run out of food by noon? Put a little effort into it.
