Neat-O's Bake Shoppe

We popped in during a Christmas shopping event in Baraboo for refreshments and warmth. We were not greeted when entering by the woman behind the counter. My children and I each bought a treat and sat at the little table they have by the window. Service was cold, disinterested and the worker seemed bothered by us staying to eat. We all felt the vibe was off and cleaned up and left. I did give 4 stars because the treats we bought were delicious and prices seemed fair for the area. Great customer service will set a business apart from any competitors and help small businesses succeed. I hope they have improved in that area, because we have yet to go back due to our experience.

Cute shop with many excellent treats and wonderful holiday boxes, perfect for gifts. Kind and smart service. Wish they made sandwiches too!

I was very disappointed with the rainbow cupcake cake for our nieces Baby Shower! I thought it was done by the kids which would have been great. But it was done by Neat-O's Bake shoppe. Plus it wasn't made right, was to be Chocolate with Raspberry filling. They were vanilla with raspberry filling. And what they paid for it, it should of been gorgeous. We were not greeted by either of the employees that were behind the bakery case when we entered. SMALL BUSINESSES LIFEBLOOD IS CUSTOMER SERVICE GUYS! The bakery selection was modest. We got a few cookies, a cherry hand pie, and an elephant ear. They were all okay. There's nowhere to sit here. It's just an order and leave place.They do offer special order cakes for any occasion. Looks like they have house baked breads as well. They seemed fairly busy but not sure if I will come back. This is based on no customer service and plain bakery items.

Such a great selection! The inside was clean and the prices were fair. The cookies were delicious!

Neat-O's made the most amazing Custom birthday cake for my husband's 50th Birthday! It was absolutely perfect! The mint flavoring was over the top yummy!! Highly recommend!!

Local feel, bakery is great!!! We get donuts, cookies, and bread all great!! I personally like the local feel of the bakery!

Very small selection of donuts. The donuts were $1.50, which I thought was expensive for their quality. The Persian didn't have a cinnamon taste to it at all. The apple fritter wasn't crisp at all, and also lacked flavor.

Note: I only got Glazed-Raised donuts and an Elephant-Ear, and all of their items looked delicious! I am using the Fosdal Home Bakery in Stoughton (my favorite bakery products) as my primary comparison bakery.Store: A+ - Beautiful layout, presentation, and cleanliness.Help: A - Kind, quick, courteous, and efficient.Glazed-RaisedTaste: ASize: APrice each: B $2.00Price per dozen: C- $24.00 - Almost everywhere else, including Fosdal's, you get at least a little bit of a volume discount. I'd be much more apt to get a dozen for $20 or a 1/2 dozen for $11.Elephant-EarTaste: A++++++++++Size: A+Price each: A These are labor intensive. No volume discount expected.Bonus points: Apparently today is National Donut Day, and they were giving away small glazed cake donuts. NICE!Over all impression: A The store has more space to offer a neater layout/presentation than Fosdals. They have a wider variety of items too. I will definitely go back to try more items.The only down side is that I would like to see a little bit of a price cut on larger orders...but perhaps I am just a tight wad.
