My Flavor It! Place - Wauconda

Got some shaved ice from this local favorite. It certainly seems to be one of the places to go to for summer or whenever it gets hot. My Flavor It has a few locations, including this one in Wauconda. A few tables are inside. This is one of those seasonal types of places. Choose from a ton of flavors. It's got custard, ice cream, and shaved ice. There's tons of the flavor syrups. Affordable. It's about $5 to get the shaved ice. This is topped with the syrup of your choice, and there's a few combinations that go good together. Has the Caramel Apple, which is caramel and green apple. There's lots with blue raspberry and the classic flavors. Has good shaved ice and ice cream. It's located on North Main at Hubbard. This place closes for winters.

So, let me preface this by saying I've never been to a "shaved ice place" before. Being my first time experience, I was unsure on what to get as they also offer ice cream concoctions. I figured I couldn't go wrong with the shaved ice. I got the small, since my niece ordered the junior size and that looked plenty big (the small was the next size up I believe). You can choose 3 flavors, of which they had so many to choose from. Since I couldn't decide, I went with the rainbow flavor. Oh my gosh...it was SO good! The ice held the juice/syrup so well that it had consistent, juicy flavor in EVERY bite! And it was only $2.95 for the small size! Great deal for something so simple. I will definitely be returning and/or visiting their other locations!!

A friend told me to check out this place - just WOW. Awesome selection of flavors and definitely a first for me. I've never had REAL shaved ice so didn't know what I was missing! I'll certainly be back

I come here at least once a week or so, however I want to point out that when my friends and I went tonight, my friend's brain freeze was not filled anywhere near the top of the cup and my other friend got a snow cone and felt that there was a shortage of syrup in proportion to the amount of ice. I just wish they took an extra second to make sure they were producing a quality product, but we will be back and we are so glad this place is in Wauconda.

i love this place! i've only been here once or twice and there are so many options and flavors to choose from it's almost overwhelming! it's a fun place to hangout with friends and the ice cream and shaved ice is phenomenal! look forward to going there more this summer!

I have been to the Palatine location before, but I recently discovered the Wauconda location. I have been back multiple times since first discovering this location a few weeks ago. The staff was sweet and they offer a variety of delightful flavors to choose from. It is perfect for a hot day, and they even have a nice seating arrangement outside. I recommend going here if you're looking for a quick way to satisfy a sweet tooth! Great for friends and family too, for there are many places to sit and enjoy your sweets.

A great and welcome addition to Main Street in Wauconda. At first I thought that it was a little concession-y, but it beats out the other dessert options in town. Their shaved ice is now my new favorite after meal or beat-the-heat treat. It's light and snowy, not crunchy like a snow cone so it's easy to eat. It's also not as thick as an Italian ice. The portion they give you for the price is fantastic. It's hard to get anything bigger than the "regular" size without having to share. The options and combinations of flavors is impressive but it makes it difficult to decide on your final choice. I can't speak on the other menu options, because the shaved ice is so good, I find it hard to pass up. Everything else sounds good though. The staff is super nice and welcoming everytime you walk in. Always eager to help and patient with customers. I like the place more and more everytime I stop by. Parking is on the street through, but you're not going to be there for long anyway. I suggest eating at Main Street tacos and finishing up with a tasty dessert here.

Was it frozen? Yes. Was it flavored? Also yes. Is everyone who drives by wondering how a business that specializes in snow cones stays in business? Much wonder, Very yes.
