Updated review: Nice brunch selection but usually slow service. When we order two brunch entrees, we usually wait about 45 minutes+ before we receive our meals. This is fine with us as long as we don't have definite plans after we eat. I've been here multiple times for brunch and have always had friendly service and i've been seated right away, even without a reservation. The last time I dined at Moxie for brunch, I ordered the veggie scramble and a side salad. I'm not sure what oil was used to cook the scramble but I had a terribly upset stomach after I left. My husband's cubed potatoes were floating in oil on the plate and we both shared those. He also didn't feel great after we ate. Not sure if that was a one-off thing or what but that's what we are hoping.

My wife and I visited Moxie recently. We were seated by one of the owners, a very pleasant and friendly person who made our outdoor brunch experience that much more enjoyable. I need to add here that other waitstaff members who approached our outdoor table were equally friendly. No bad moods exhibited here. While their menu was somewhat limited and not being a "Hamburger" kind of guy, I ordered...the Hamburger. It arrived hot and fresh and had no telltale signs of sitting under a warming lamp. It was delicious and got me wondering why other establishments don't make Hamburgers like the one served to me.So, in closing, this non-Hamburger guy (and his lovely wife) will be visiting Moxie again the not-too-distant future for...... another Hamburger.

Moxie in Whitefish Bay is a hip spot with a vibe that flirts with a speakeasy aesthetic, though it's a bit too bright inside to fully nail that atmosphere. Still, the ambiance is inviting and stylish, making it a solid choice for a night out.On the food front, I enjoyed the steak and cheese salad, both well-prepared and flavorful. The scallops with bacon as an appetizer were a highlight as well, offering a nice balance of textures and flavors. I paired my meal with a Malbec red and later a dirty martini, both of which complemented the food nicely. One downside, however, was the service. Despite the small space, our server frequently reached across the table, which felt unnecessary and a bit intrusive. There was definitely room to avoid that. Also, a heads-up: make sure to double-check your bill. Our group of three adults was charged for two extra drinks and an appetizer we never ordered. It was a bit of a bummer and left us with a bad aftertaste for an otherwise decent experience. It's a shame Whitefish Bay doesn't have more places like Moxie on Silver Spring, but for now, it's a decent option for a fun night out with good food and drinks, even if a few details could be improved.

We went to Moxie for dinner with friends last night and it was a perfect place to eat delicious food, have some drinks, and catch up. The service was top notch!Every dish we had was delicious from the shrimp and cheese board appetizers to the flourless chocolate cake. We all had different entrées and each one of us loved it. I love the chill feel in this beautifully designed room. If you are in town, it's worth the visit!

Beautiful ambience. Great day date for brunch. Service was excellent. Cocktails on point. Bourbon sliders were delicious and the potato wedges were crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside- perfection. Piccata chicken with hash brown waffle had good flavor- could've used a sauce. Chicken was dry on top of a dry waffle. Not my favorite. Tiramisu and flourless chocolate cake were fabulous.

My friend suggested Moxie for her birthday dinner recently, which she noted on our reservation. We arrived and were seated in the weird little first table which sits behind the reception desk and in its own little plexi cubicle. The placed was packed to the gills and quite loud. Our waitress was fine, but had she been more attentive, we would have ordered more and brought our ticket total higher. She was a little neglectful despite there being a large number of employees who seemed to just walk back and forth across the restaurant floor. The burrata was good - it's hard to mess that up. Our salads were disgustingly overdressed and a soggy brown mess. My friend's chick piccata was fine, she said. My mushroom ragout was better in theory than in practice. It was bland and there was a lot of fibrous herb and vegetable matter I had to keep pulling out of my mouth. Gross. No one on staff acknowledged the birthday that was on the reservation. It was a disappointing night and my first visit will likely be my last.

I had a taste for something specific and didn't want to travel too far out of the way that's when I remembered Moxie's. It was near closing time on Sunday and several diners were finishing up their meals. When I told Anne Marie and Jen, my servers, what I had a taste for, she suggested to modify a Menu item to for me. I was quite pleased with "Steak and Eggs". I wanted the meat grilled not fried and it was good. It satisfied my desire for Steak. The Scrambled Eggs with Cheese somehow stole the show. The Eggs were fluffy and delicious. The meal was served with toasted Sour Dough bread and jam. Sunday Brunch was just right and I appreciated the food and the kindness of the waitstaff. I've enjoyed eating here before and have really liked the Cajun Shrimp Benedict and Salmon Nicoise from the menu. There are other great items like Chicken & Waffles and French Toast. Brunch is served on Sunday from 10-2 and I have always been pleased with my food here.
