We had the best supper club experience at Moonlight Tavern! We went as a group of 12 on a Saturday, but we made sure to make reservations ahead of time earlier that week, which they recommend for weekends. FYI: If you are visiting the area and have a large group, this is one of the few places around to take reservations!!The cocktails here are a must! Many of us started with Old Fashioned's just how we like them. Others tried bourbon from their extensive list, other specialty cocktails, and the dessert cocktails. Our server, Trish, did a fantastic job taking care of us all night. The ownership changed about a year ago, and we had the opportunity to meet the owner when he brought complimentary bourbon & brandy tastings to our table. I would recommend eating here to anyone local or visiting.

Cozy old-school bar with dark wood, stained glass panels, and a full restaurant attached, all in a cool historic building right off downtown Port Washington. We just had drinks, but would come back for apps or dinner sometime. They have a fantastic happy hour menu, including nice whiskeys and affordable apps. Our server was very friendly, and didn't make us feel rushed at all. Everyone in the place seemed to be in a good mood! It's a really nice stop and worth checking out. They're apparently on the Port Washington Old Fashioned crawl, plus the Bloody Mary crawl!

This tavern is under new management. They opened for lunch on a Saturday, and we were the first ones through the door. Needless to say, we had our choice of seating. This quaint little bar/restaurant is tastefully decorated. The menu offers many favorites and some unique items. They do a Friday fish fry. As for me, I ordered the moonlight grinder. This is an herb focaccia roll, ham, pepperoni, prosciutto, shredded lettuce, red onion, sundried tomato pepper jam, mayo, an Italian dressing, parm & mozzarella cheese. The cost is $19.00. The roll was soft and obviously fresh. They use quality ingredients in this sandwich. What really made this sandwich pop was the sundried tomato pepper jam. It added a sweet savory kick. I enjoyed this meal with a nice IPA draft beer. This is a place I will stop in at when in town again. FYI: They will be offering a Mother's Day brunch that will be a real treat for mom.

So much potential...Our first visit to this restaurant and high hopes on a Friday evening. Great vintage ambiance. You could smell the fish fry immediately when you open the door. I had a Whiskey Row Old Fashioned(2 actually) and it was the best part of a $120 dinner. The spinach artichoke dip was tasty but was served lukewarm at best. The "crostini" was a hodgepodge mix of crackers, sliced leftover bagels and pitas. Good repurposing of food maybe??? Clam chowder should be renamed bacon herb chowder as those flavors drowned any hopes of some clam flavor. Entrees: I had the battered haddock. Came out hot and fresh. Surprisingly flavorless. Needed all the lemon, salt and malt vinegar I could handle. The cauliflower mash(with $5 loaded upcharge) was delish. Homemade slaw also surprisingly flavorless. Other entree was the Scallop Carbonara. Don't order this dish! Visually unappealing as it was tan pasta with a white sauce and white scallops. The scallops were not seared and seamed to have been boiled in the weird sambuca flavored sauce, which when combined with gross scallops, made for a terrible pasta. I ate one scallop and wondered what I had just eaten. I love scallops and they're one of my favorites, but this did not taste like a scallop. We left expecting to feel ill after eating this dish. And finally, the waitress felt offended that we didn't even want to hear about dessert options, so that felt a little off putting and sales-ish. Maybe it was an off night, but we will not be back anytime soon. If we do, we will sit at the cool bar and have old fashioneds and something fried.

Located in the newly re-opened Port Hotel, this is a great option for a nice meal in Port Washington.I've been here twice now, once was soon after Moonlight Tavern opened and only had their appetizer menu available. The next visit was for a full dinner in the dining room. Both times I loved everything I tried. This chef makes fantastic sauces.Yes, this is a pricier establishment but you can also get a great meal for a reasonable price. My mom got the king Louie salad and it was massive with a ton of crab, avocado and two eggs. My brother had the steak sandwich which had a generous portion of steak. I enjoyed the crab cakes for my meal. They were full of crab (minimal filler) and the red pepper sauce was an amazing compliment. Both of my visits, we ordered the goat cheese curds and calamari. Both times they were delicious. Again, the sauces really elevating the dish to the next level. The only complaint was my sisters wedge salad came on a plate that was not easy to eat from.

Stopped in here recently because hubs has been searching for a good prime rib spot. They serve it on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so we stopped in on a Wednesday.I was pleasantly surprised they had a kids menu - its not online, and I was a bit worried this place would be too "fancy" to bring our kiddo. However, as soon as they grabbed the crayons I was relieved. Also, the dining room is not too stuffy or anything, definitely has small town vibes. We ended up gettingLobster roll: Pretty, but just a bit too much sauce. Big chunks of lobster on the sandwich. Tator tots / coleslaw on the side was good.Prime rib (queen cut): absolutely enormous, perfectly cooked, plenty leftover to take home.Chicken Mushroom Stroganoff: Kiddo enjoyed :)

Struggling to Like - very good prices but the food is "off." Food was poor quality and cooked terribly. Lake Perch were tiny and soaked in oil when served. Wife got a potato that took up 3/4 of the plate. One of our meals was forgotten, came out late and was over cooked. Soup tasted like it was rushed using shortcuts. Potato pancake was burned. Conversely, the Bar is fantastic, staff were wonderful and location is perfect. Not sure what the issue is here, cooks, food prep, menu or just poor quality. Quietly emailed management about the issues, receiced excuses and found out food on menu had been substituted. If they don't try to jam older couples into tiny, corner tables, use better quality food, cook it right with the prices they have, it could really be great.

First, let's discuss what a great presence Austin is at the bar. Warm, friendly and a great mixer of drinks. He might have a heart of gold for never calling our horsehockey. He'll probably exhibit it again for not calling yours ;) The drinks here are excellent. I was lucky enough to enjoy several of the best Manhattans I've ever consumed. My better half enjoyed several libations from the special's board and all were thoroughly enjoyed. We really enjoyed eating at this establishment. Chef Lisa took all allergies (wheat/egg) into account and delivered great meals. This is high-end food, prepared fresh, in portions large enough to fill, but often not requiring a doggy bag. Poor doggy!! No leftovers for you sweetie. Our seafood tasted fresh and the fish fry hit the spot. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The cauliflower mashed is tremendous, the asparagus if available should be ordered. We look forward to visiting again should we ever be in the area.

Have been here twice in the last few months and it was great both times! The drinks were great and the food was served hot and was delish. The service was great and the waitstaff all have great personalities, the last time I was there I brought 8 of my family members and the server was laughing with us and we were telling stories and spending quaintly time together. Will be back and would recommend!
