First time eating here, and oh my goodness the sushi is by far my favorite of all the local places I've tried. We loved the three we picked - the happiness roll, the fire phoenix roll, and the champion roll. You couldn't go wrong. The fire phoenix was by far our favorite, the sweetness of the coconut sauce on it was amazing! Service was friendly and on top of things, we never had to wait for anything we may have needed - our waitress was great! We will absolutely be back. It's really pretty in there, great for date night, or a night out with the family or friends. We want to try the hibachi one day but first I need to come back for the sushi. We will be back soon!

Solid place for lunch! I usually come here over my lunch break with coworkers or friends. The sushi is always fresh, the service is kind and usually quick, and the prices are reasonable, especially for lunch. Ample parking, big space, nice atmosphere, and very clean. Will keep enjoying as a favorite lunch rotation. I also hear we're getting a Meiji in Greenfield (former Genesis location), so would love to try the hibachi for dinner when I am closer to home.

My husband and I came in on a Monday evening. We missed the happy hour menu, but we're able to take it advantage of the Monday, Tuesday dining specials for sushi. Overall, I would say it was good sushi, but not something that would make me come running back next time I have a sushi craving. My husband got the shrimp hibachi and also enjoyed it. I thought that the sauce and vegetables were cooked perfectly! They had the hibachi experience going on in the other room, which looks like a lot of fun so maybe we come to that next visit. The restaurant area was giant which makes me think it gets busy on weekends. Even though it was a Monday night I would say that the staff were all working pretty hard and were very attentive.

Great service, great food, overall great first experience at Meiji with my girlfriends. We shared all of our sushi choices and not one of the rolls disappointed! Will definitely be back when getting sushi in the area and recommend to others!

I've just stopped in a few times for take out and have been pleased each time! My go to order is crab wontons (amazing), hot and sour soup (so good), and a veggie roll (standard). Service has been quick and friendly each time!

Meiji is "just fine" if you're nearby and want sushi. Service was prompt, and everything arrived quickly. We started with potstickers which were fine - again, not bad but nothing special. My roll was also fine and we'll filled. Prices are on par with other spots. They do have a nice happy hour every night so that's probably worth checking out.

I've dined at Meiji for many years now and I'm surprised I haven't written a review.A very large restaurant with lots of seating, fairly large bar in the center of the restaurant and completely separated. They have six hibachi grills. I've been here for hibachi and sushi and enjoyed both. Of course the entertainment for the hibachi is what you come for and that is dependent on the chef you have. Good atmosphere and never too loud. Service is always very good. As for sushi, it is good but I prefer one other place over Meiji but that is personal taste. Recently, I've noticed the portions of the sushi has gotten smaller. Overall still very good and I'll be back depending on my mood.in the Waukesha area:Other hibachi: try AsianaOther Sushi: Asiana, Pacific Bistro, Sakura and my favorite Fujiyama

What a mess! We've been to Meiji several times for New Years and this was the worst. Service was slow. Way overcrowded. They now add automatic 20% tip to parties of 5 or more, which is fine. But we were a party of four. Then they forgot to add in a drink. I needed to pay for the one drink AFTER paying for the meal. Fine. But they added a tip..automatically..to the drink payment, too. 'We can't make it go away. Must pay now'Disappointed. Won't be back. Must be under new ownership. We'll head to Fujiyama going forward
