Yum!In Milwaukee for a volleyball tournament and we had a break in the action. Found Mediterranean Cuisine on Yelp and took a chance. It was no disappointment.My wife had the chicken shawarma pita and I had the chicken shawarma wrap. We both gave a satisfied sigh after our first bites. That satisfaction continued all the way through the meal and into the evening with more volleyball. The ingredients tasted fresh and the seasoning was right on. We also shared an order of the Greek fries with a side of garlic aioli....also delicious.We took some baklava with us .... I can't wait to taste it!The place was in a charming, old, downtown Milwaukee building and the ambiance was clean and welcoming. The service was very polite and included free Turkish tea and bottled water.If you're in the area, definitely check this place out!

I've ordered food from Mediterranean Cuisine and recently visited with a friend. One of my favorite restaurants in the world is Turkish, so I had high expectations and experience with the food.I'll start by saying that I wish there were more Turkish specialties on the menu. I like Haydari and it was a good addition, but I also love Ezme, which is sadly missing. I'd also love to see some feta Cigara Boregi, but I'll have to wait.What dishes are on the menu are solid. I have tried the Vegan Kofte wrap and platter and they were excellent - a true treat for vegetarians and not something you see everywhere.Tabouleh is good, but needed a little more acid. The hummus was a little bland for my tastes. My friend tried the falafel wrap and liked it, but it needed more sauce for moisture.My BF liked his Adana kebab quite a lot. Everyone liked the Greek fries.Portions are generous and pricing is fair. Free bottled water is served in the restaurant, which is very nice. If you can get some pistachio cheesecake, do! It might not be Turkish, but it's light as a feather and not overly sweet. A nice light end to a meal.The interior is big, open and nicely done. There are a couple more private booths in the back, but they are right next to the door to the bathrooms. Ordering is done at the counter and then the food is brought out to you. I signed up for the loyalty program, but the person working said it's only good for ordering online, which is a loss. I'll always spend more on site. Service was a little lackadaisical and impersonal, but fine. The location is super for show goers in the area.

Mediterranean Cuisine is a gem! Very cute, casual counter service. Food is great. The yogurt sauce and dips were rich and flavorful, perfect with the pita. I had the Iskender plate and the Greek fries. Fries were the best, very generous portion. I had never had Turkish tabbouleh before and was surprised that it had more bulgur than Lebanese tabbouleh. Still very delicious!

Another show at the Riverside, another stop at Mediterranean Cuisine.It's an order at the counter and they'll bring your food to your table sort of set up. That said, the quality and presentation of the food is what you would expect from a restaurant that offers table service. I love their Greek fries, which have the perfect amount of crispiness and the right amount of feta. Their falafel wrap is amazing as is their pistachio baklava.The dining area is clean and well appointed and the service has been lovely every time I've been in.Get to it!

What an awesome spot for Mediterranean eats! I love how they don't need an extravagant name to serve amazing food.A couple of friends and I have been watching this building since we saw a coming soon sign and we had the best time here! Delicious food and large portions!Order up front and enjoy a cup of tea while you wait for your food. I had the beef kebab plate and we all split the tabbouleh, greek fries, and mixed baklava plate. The beef kebab plate came with a little side salad, pita, and rice. The beef had a nice char and was so tender. I ended up getting two meals out of this. I enjoyed the greek fries (nothing special other than feta on top) and pistachio baklava but could have done without the tabbouleh (too much dill). We really hope this place gets the love that it deserves! It's definitely going to be one of my go-tos downtown!

Had dinner here before a show at the Pabst Theater. Don't snooze on this place. Between the generic name and the location I wasn't expecting too much even though the menu looked good. But Mediterranean Cuisine has great food and friendly service.The gyros are popular according to the website but there are lots of gyros in Milwaukee. I had the Adana kebab plate. All the plates have rice and salad and bread. I really enjoyed the salad with peppery greens and seasoned onions. The kebab itself was juicy and flavorful. I liked the stuffed grape leaf that accompanied my plate also.The atmosphere was brisk and casual but there were lots of conversations going on in the dining room. It's a great place for before or after an event. They seem to do a decent takeout business also.Next I want to try the Iskender kebab and the mezze. I also want to go back when I have more time and linger over tea.

OMG!!! I've heard people talk about this spot but let me tell you, sooooo good! Worry very penny! I came here with some coworkers for dinner and the food did not disappoint. We shared the Greek Fries and baba ghanoush which was so delicious. Tye beef kabob plate was so yummy. Honestly, one of the best ones kabob plates I've ever eaten. Service was great.

We were so excited when we heard this place opened as there has been no Turkish restaurant in Milwaukee since Tulip closed. This place did not disappoint. We found the food to be very authentic and were so happy to see they have Iskender kebab on the menu. It was great. In addition to the Iskender, we ordered the mixed grill which is a huge amount of food. We may have two additional meals from the leftovers. The meat was cooked perfectly and had a fantastic charcoal grilled flavor. We also started with combination appetizer and tried Haydari, their baba ganoush and falafel. All were very good. Turkish food is distinctly different from Greek or other Middle Eastern countries. When I see reviews criticizing the flavor profiles it's clear they are not aware of this distinction as the food here is authentic and exactly what I would expect from a good Turkish kebabci. It's counter service, but we were treated very well and received complimentary Turkish tea and baklava. We'll be back!
