McJugger’s Saloon & Grill

I was a bit skeptical when my dad talked this place up, but he's obsessed with the steak nachos. I can absolutely understand why. Easily feeds two people, the guac and pico were fresh, and toppings were ample. Had to try out the poppers along with them as they were definitely unique based on the description, and they delivered. Such a great take on a classic appetizer!We had a server that gave us plenty of attention and didn't miss anything. Very relaxed feel of a place, which is unsurprising for the area. Prices feel pretty reasonable for the quality of the food. The place wasn't too busy for a Sunday at 5pm, but with the weather people were likely still taking in the daylight elsewhere. I would opt to come back if we're back in the area.

Stopped in a few times as we recently purchased a lake home in the area. Love the historical pictures on the wall and the history of the building. Service was friendly and fast. Love the fact they serve their burgers and steak sandwiches on Sheboygan hard rolls. Ordered the steak sandwich on my last visit. For the price point, it was a solid hunk of meat. Perfectly cooked. The only thing missing was perhaps a Dijon mustard or fried onions or something to compliment the meat (came with lettuce and tomato). Perhaps these were options available but not offered up when I ordered. A small tap list but was impressed with their bottles and can selection. Definitely worthy of a stop. Looking forward to repeat visits.

We stopped her for lunch and the food was delicious! Pros: My husband ordered the Mama Burger with fries and it was big, and he really enjoyed it. He had fries for a side and they were piping hot and good. I ordered the Rueben and it was right up there with some of the best corned beef sandwiches I've had. The corned beef was fresh cut from the brisket and excellent.Cons:Staff was attentive at first and them not so much. Had to ask twice for a refill on my iced tea. Had to go up to the bar to ask for our check and a box for leftovers. They appeared to be adequately staffed, so not sure why the lag in service. Fries were the designated side with both sandwiches. I opted to switch those out for a salad and there was a $4 up charge m, which I thought was a bit pricey. But it was a great salad!The upshot is that we will come back and I do recommend the place. It was clean, neat decor and great food! Thanks for a great lunch!

Granted, all I tried this visit what is the jalapeño poppers. They were a very nice mixture of cream cheese with a hint of cheddar cheese mixed in chopped bacon a healthy amount of jalapeños all wrapped up in a wonton wrapper deep fried and cut on the bias. Solid portion size that you could easily split with somebody else or make it a snack for yourself. While I was waiting for my food I noticed a large amount of fish fries being delivered to tables and could see that the portions were very sizable. Judging by the look of the fish fry the taste of my jalapeño poppers, what I would say is that I need to try the burger because I imagine those are amazing as well. Establishment itself is very clean and bright, felt very comfortable to sit in if I was with my family or friends.

Had lunch there Sunday at about 1 pm. First visit. Beautiful long bar and high tables. More of a Mexican food flair. Had the tortilla soup $? and steak quesadilla $15.95. Both were delicious, and I would enjoy going back. By the time we left at about 3:15 pm the place was close to full. Good business, good service, good food.

We went on a Saturday night and it was very busy. Nice place. The food was very good. Service was also good, especially considering how many people were there

Last Saturday had the most perfectly cooked prime rib I have had in many years. And frankly I am more than a little picky when it comes to food. Worth the drive.

Food and service was awesome. Jet the Jalapeño poppers nothing like them anywhere. Will go back every time I am in the area

Wouldn't serve a 23 year old women. Has a 17 year old bar tender. Served a 22 year old male. Horrible service. Terrible, undercooked food. Do not recommend what so ever.

Great selection of beverages and the best friday fish fry around! The jalapeño poppers are amazongs! Super friendly atmosphere and a great outside seating area in the summer.
