Easily my favorite cafe in the Madison area. I only wish it was closer to me! This is a house turned cafe and has a surprisingly large number of options considering how small it is. In addition, everything I've ever had here has been delicious! Drinks and food are all made to order yet do come fairly quickly considering that. The drinks menu is on a chalkboard and changed seasonally, and everything is made with high quality ingredients. They even have a cooler with kombucha and beer if that is more your style. I am bummed they got rid of the half sandwich + soup combo, so now I end up eating too much. The chicken salad sandwich is my favorite although they recently added a spinach and artichoke panini that is also delicious. I also almost always order the soup of the day and have never been disappointed, my two favorites have been a mushroom soup and a brie soup. They also have an outdoor dog-friendly patio when the weather is nice, plus complimentary WiFi and water. Street parking can be tight at times, and there are plenty of bike racks. This is just the cutest place and I will keep going back, and bringing out of town guests, as long as the quality continues. Lastly, they often have local vendor crafts for sale inside which is perfect for the holidays or other cute gifts!

We went to the McFarland house for breakfast while on a little getaway to the area, and it was definitely worth the stop! I'll start off saying the coffee was really good! I had the breakfast sandwich with egg, tomato and goat cheese and my companion had the traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon, and toast. Both were really well prepared and very tasty! You order from the counter and your food is delivered to you right from the kitchen. It was a very nice place to eat, a great casual vibe. It lad a really nice somewhat industrial interior, very nice place to sit and eat and chat. Oh and the iced tea and iced mocha to go were great as well! We will be back for breakfast again this week!

Cute historic home has vintage feel inside with a separate garage turned into ice cream shop. Great prices on coffees and well made by their staff. Menu is seasonal, limited and a little pricey for the portions. You can tell they use good ingredients and keep it simple.

A historical landmark coffee shop. Friendly atmosphere, lovely places to sit outside and inside. They also had a small icecream place next door. Like going back in time. Not super disabled friendly but worth a visit.

I love to go work remote here and grab a great coffee and snack. Wi-Fi is pretty reliable and speedy. It's a local place that doesn't need to advertise "community" ... it just is. Food and coffee are excellent quality. Library, post office, ice cream and arcade nearby for errands and breaks. The room and ambiance is not conducive for anything but brief phone calls.

Stopped here to grab lunch and an afternoon snack on a Friday. There was actually a pretty steady crowd for 2pm! The woman who took our order was super friendly and drinks were made promptly. I got the unsweetened berry iced tea, which was just what I was looking for. It was nice to see that they also had a couple of options of iced teas. I also got the blueberry muffin, which had a decent flavor, but was a little crumbly from dryness. My friends all got sandwiches and they said it was exactly what they were looking for. Great selection and flavor! We also went to the other building which houses the Ice cream parlor and an arcade! Large selection of ice cream, sorbet, and bars and ice cream sandwiches. Everyone went away happy, full, and cooled off from the heat! We'll definitely have to add this into the restaurant rotation.

I think that the food was really good and so were the drinks. There was also not that long of a wait and it is nice inside. There is also an ice cream "shack" right next to it with an arcade in the back, the ice cream is good and the arcade is fun.

Wow what a cute place. Everything was wonderful- the staff, the ambiance, the coffee, the food! I had an iced mocha which was perfect and then ordered the blueberry toast. Wow wasn't expecting much but that was so yummy and unique with the egg, the goat cheese, the apple salsa. Fantastic.

Came on a weekend for brunch, and I am really surprised to not see it busier. We walked here in the winter. I hope to come here in the summer to enjoy their outdoor space.Coffee was meh, I've had better, but I've also had worse. Nothing too spectacular or memorable.Their cinnamon bun was surprisingly good. Light, fluffy, with a bit of sweetness, but not enough to make you stop after one bite! I absolutely loved it and would come back for another. We also got some other breakfast items (eggs, breakfast sandwich, the usual, you know :), but this was the selling point.
