Customer service could be much better. Need to stand behind their products and if a customer needs to make a return of bad produce, the smart thing to do is replace it. Poor customer service drives regular customers away.

Disclaimer: I'm family. But distant family and I live far from here. We were in town recently for a big family get together and we got to tour their facility and sample their homemade products. Reasonable prices. Everything is fresh. Here's the biggest thing... the staff is happy to be there. What a friendly group of people. If the staff is happy they are going to go out of their way to make you happy! Man, I wish I had this supermarket where I live in Pennsylvania!!

This is all the grocery store we need for the size of our Community, Meet, produce, bakery and prepared deli items are always fresh. There is a broad selection of staples, frozen foods, and liquor. Add a very clean house and a helpful, cheerful staff and you have a great market experience. We live only a few blocks from 'The Pig' but would not hesitate to driveseveral miles to shop here.

Good selection, kind staff, their mask policy is way below the standard in the industry. Even their employees wore their masks sometimes under the nose and sometimes with odd choices of masks like a plastic shield preventing nothing. As in all things, their customers take their cues from the staff. Many customers had no masks and we're surprised or offended when asked to back up six feet. Kind of ashamed of the response in my own community.

I've had 3 instances of bad/spoiled meat in the 5 years I've shopped there. The first was frozen, whole chickens, at .49 cents a pound. Great price! But when I thawed that chicken, the entire inside of the carcass was black! In the garbage it went. The second was rancid pork ribs. I bought them to cook that night, but OMG, when I peeled that cellophane off the package, I almost lost it! In the garbage with those. Well, this last time, I bought some butcher's chicken cordon bleus. They looked different than the ones they've made in the past. Instead of a chicken breast with a slice of ham & a slice of Swiss, these were like formed patties, with tiny cubes of cheese & ham in them. I thought I'd give them a try. Well, 5 hours later, I was vomiting uncontrollably! I've been in bed for 2 days now :( I called and spoke with the meat dept. They actually had the NERVE to argue with me, saying they'd eaten the same thing that night & did not get ill. What?? No offer of compensation for the $6 that the item cost, no care for my illness, just "YOU, CUSTOMER, ARE WRONG!!!" Screw that. They just lost a good & loyal customer.
